Excellent staff and good ambience
We stayed in a pleasant room on the third floor which was quite a walk as there was no lift. On the plus side we had a wonderful view of the nearby countryside. The room was pleasant and clean with a large bathroom. The only gripe was although there was a small selection of teas there was only 2 breakfast teas and although we did mention this we were only given another two which was not enough for a three night stay! Breakfast was very good with an excellent selection of fruit and yoghurt
Wonderful Location
Plus points. Historic property with Olde World feel in stunning location. The view from our room was amazing, the weather was sunny so time spent at the external bar and seating area was glorious. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Not so good points. The room could do with updating / brightening & a little TLC. Eg although the view was amazing, the window blind was faulty. The food in the restaurant is a little pricey.
Overall it was an enjoyable stay in a beautiful surroundings.

Celebrating my sisters 60th birthday we were a group of 10 & the hotel made sure a table for 10 was set up for breakfast & dinner. The staff were really helpful & we really enjoyed the outside area. We would definitely revisit.
Lovely hotel.
Lovely hotel with helpful pleasant staff. Great location with good walks. Restaurant had a nice ambiance and food was good- especially the breakfast. Enjoyed the quirky bars and beautiful beer garden.
Would highly recommend.
We only stayed for one night. But everything was very good. The staff were very friendly. Our evening meal in the restaurant was delicious, the choice for breakfast was very good, with a well cooked & presented Full English Breakfast.
Dog vacation
We had a wonderful stay, it may have been only one night, but the staff were all so friendly and made our dog Alfie so welcome, even to a sausage for his breakfast.
Stayed when Storm Darragh happened Very windy and wet
