Lovely relaxing break. Lovely dinner and breakfast. Beautiful outside bar area. Would consider going back. Am undecided if good value.

One night stay

It was a lovely place to stay. A very oldy worldy building, full of character. The food and service were great. I was a little disappointed with the room which was quite small, although the bed and amenities were fine. For the price paid I would of expected a nicer room, but with the special offer we had including dinner, bed and breakfast this was ok.

A lovely hotel in a superb location wonderful outside space with very friendly staff all round. Due to the age of the hotel rooms differ and our very good double was lovely although a long way from the restuarant. Our only issue is there are steps on most corridors which was difficult for my husband who uses two walking sticks for mobility and the staircase adjacent to our room was steep and difficult. The food in the bar areas was very good and breakfast in the main restuarant superb. Dinner however was not so good one meal had to be returned as the lamb was inedable, and menu choices were limited, however the staff were very professional, friendly and dealt with the issue very quickly.

Great weekend destination

Really enjoyed our stay. The outside terrace, bar and garden provide an excellent facility when the weather is good. Dining room very pleasant and food generally good. Enjoyed watching the cows roaming the common over breakfast.
