We had a really lovely relaxing break at the Bear. Would highly recommend the slightly more expensive four poster rooms, it was well worth that little bit extra. Dinner and breakfast were fantastic. The garden was also lovely to sit and admire the view with a drink before dinner. Overall really good value for money, would definitely return next year.

Excellent Hotel

We enjoyed our week-end at the Bear Hotel. Our room was immaculate, the food in the restaurant was to a very high standard. We will certainly consider staying there again

Lovely Hotel

A lovely hotel in beautiful setting. Helpful, efficient staff. The only thing we could ve wished for was nice weather. It rained all weekend so didn t manage any of the lovely walks on our doorstep or enjoy the beautiful outdoor terrace.

Great overnight stay

Mary, West Midlands, stayed: October 2020

Our overnight stay was Friday 9th October, wonderful hotel, very covid safe, all very well organised with one way system but not intrusive in any way. Lovely friendly and efficient staff, both on Reception and all the waiting staff. Super room immaculately clean, comfy bed and pillows, fluffy towels, what's not to like !! Evening meal was excellent, good food and good service and lovely atmosphere.
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, all in all a superb overnight stay and yes we will be back

We will definitely try and visit again.

During these difficult times the staff could not have been nicer. So helpful.
Generally the food was delicious, but two disappointing choices.
Our room was on the first floor. Absolutely fine for us but if you have mobility problems you would need a ground floor room ( no lifts).
