Excellent 3 day break

RB, Cumbria, stayed: September 2019

Very nice bedroom with french doors opening onto golf course perimeter.
Every thing you would need in a bedroom from a Nespresso coffee machine to nibbles.
My wife enthused about the shower.
Restaurant food was excellent with lovel views of the golf course.
Pleasant areas within the hotel to relax.
Lovely swimming pool with good changing facilities.nothing much not to like.

Fabulous hotel

Anon, stayed: September 2019

We arrived to our room on the third floor overlooking the golf course. We enjoyed the sparkling wine which was included in our deal. The hotel was spotless throughout and luxuriously furnished. We had dinner on the first night and the food was well presented and cooked to perfection. The breakfast was of a high standard as well. We also used the pool and hot tub. Everything about the hotel surpassed our expectations.

Not the relaxing break we were looking for!

Emma, Herefordshire, stayed: August 2019

My stay wasn t as relaxing as I d hoped! The receptionist was unhelpful and unwelcoming. We checked in early so were fully prepared for our room to not be ready but no offer was made for us to make use of the spa, restaurant or any facilities, our luggage was stored and we were left to work things out for ourselves. We booked a special offer stay that included dinner and a bottle of sparkling wine in our room on arrival, we had to ask for the bottle after dinner, the offer wine wasn t available so We were kept waiting for 25 minutes in reception whilst staff ran around deciding on an alternative to offer me! Dinner was poor and late led any flavour... we did inform the waiter! In the photos of the spa show a bottle of bubbles by the pool but the facilities do not allow/ advertise any such offerings! Really not the spa break we had hoped for, we felt more aggravated than relaxed at the end of it!

Perfect for a romantic weekend away

DB, Hampshire, stayed: August 2019

Stayed for 2 nights as a treat with my fiance. Excellent views of the surrounding countryside. Relaxing atmosphere and nice massage in the Spa. Pool and hot tub also good. Steam rooms need a bit of TLC though.

Drive to nearby Cleeve Hill for fabulous views of Cheltenham and the surrounding area!

Breakfast / dinner was fantastic.

Tewkesbury Park good points.

Bob Berkshire, stayed: August 2019

We particularly enjoyed he 2 dinners we had in the restaurant, and the help of the Italian manager was exemplary.
Whilst I play golf, I did not take the opportunity this time, perhaps the next. We took advantage of the hotel's location to visit Tewkesbury and Ledbury, both excellent centres.
One comment would be, that there should be an 'official' rear entry door to the spa facilities, to avoid the need to open the emergency door with one's fingernails. This would be quicker, and avoid getting wet when it rains.

Great get away

Gary B, Wiltshire, stayed: August 2019

We originally booked a touch of class room, but decided to check for an upgrade to a suite, which was available. We had a fantastic time, and were really well looked after by the staff. All the staff were friendly and quick to assist.

It was our wedding anniversary, and the quality of the stay has made us think about using the hotel to renew our wovs in a few years time.

I cannot reccomend this hotel highly enough!

3 day stay at Tweaksbury Park

ST, North Yorkshire, stayed: July 2019

This was a birthday treat from my wife.

Excellent location ideal for golf lovers. But no lift service so staying on the 3rd floor was difficult and I was not aware of any concierge service. We were checked in and directed to the rooms with no effort of enquiring about any help needed. Customer service was average and for guests who don't play golf good to have a walk around!

Breakfast was good with helpful waiters and had two dinners food is good with good service. The choice is limited.
I would not rush to go this hotel unless a golfer.

Tewkesbury Park says...

Thank you for your review and I wanted to acknowledge the criticisms you've made and assure you that we'll work hard on constantly improving our customer service. It is absolutely correct that you should have been offered a better level of assistance upon arrival, although at this late stage I can't confirm whether an alternative and more suitable room could have been provided to you.

Tewkesbury Park is built on the brow of a hill and, whilst this provides us with stunning views and scenery, the challenge is many areas of alternating levels. A single lift would not be a solution for anyone with mobility difficulties, since throughout the property there are areas where there are short flights of stairs, which couldn't feasibly be covered by multiple lifts and/or ramps.

Our property is a resort, which is designed to appeal to many differing types of guests and not exclusively reserved for golfers. We have an 18-hole Deerpark course but the majority of our guests visit for other reasons.

We hope that you'll revisit us and, being aware of our shortcomings, we'll continue to invest and improve.

Best wishes

Patrick Jones
General Manager
