Thoroughly relaxing

Adrian, Buckinghamshire, stayed: June 2021

Clean, comfortable, quiet room with a fantastic view. Lovely pool and spa. Massage and pedicure were excellent. Free EV charging was great once the only space finally became available - hotel will likely need more than one fairly soon given the pick up in EV ownership. Breakfast had all the choice you'd want and service was excellent. Vamoos app very complete and useful alternative to welcome pack in room. All staff very friendly. Salerno and Abbot's Table restaurants in Tewkesbury both very good. Lots to see and do in the area, especially for historians into the Tudors.

Weekend away

WB, Northamptonshire, stayed: June 2021

We booked this as a treat to each other after a year plus of lockdown. The room was clean and very comfortable, the health spa operated a very good system of access. It prevented people booking and not turning up. The restaurant and bar staff were very friendly but there could have been a few more on duty, at times we waited quite some time to be served, but once the order was taken it arrived in good time. We weren t in a rush so it didn t bother us. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Anniversary Break

PA, stayed: June 2021

Had a nice weekend here. The room and bathroom were both great.
The restaurant and the food were what you would expect from a golf hotel. In hindsight somewhere a little more romantic would have filled the bill. That s our fault not theirs.

Nice relaxing stay

Anna F, Surrey, stayed: June 2021

I liked the venue and we had a very nice stay. When we first arrived - we received a very warm welcome from the receptionist on site. The disappointment was with housekeeping. We followed instructions carefully when asking for certain items to be replenished (coffee and milk) only to find that the cups and saucers had not been replaced. Separately, I asked reception for some robes and champagne glasses which never arrived and we had a very hard time reaching reception by phone and we even tried the app that they advertise for contact - it s not really fit for purpose (nobody answers). Another disappointment was when we had opted for a spa package only to find that there were no available slots during our 4 night stay - I find it incredible that we were not contacted beforehand to book something and the pool booking system is extremely dysfunctional (pool staff are also very blunt and come across as rude and patronising) - so to not lose the vouchers we were forced to take products we didn t really want - not the relaxing experience I had hoped for. Finally, on the last day of our stay we asked to swap our breakfast for brunch (agreeing to pay an extra fee). The quality of the food choice was awful : food was cold and had bene left there for hours, there was no staff to serve us and when we asked for a description of the food we were told I don t know so dietary requirements were not able to be catered for. Also, we paid for cold below average food. There were no salads and when I asked for some I was told they would have to make it especially for me and made me feel extremely awkward for even asking. Staff were trying their best but there was nobody there to serve us as they were busy with afternoon teas and we felt like a nuisance : we should not have been charged extra when there was literally nothing to eat . All in all, great grounds, a nice stay but they let themselves down

Lovely location in the middle of a golf course

SN, Norfolk, stayed: June 2021

We don t play golf but still got pleasure in the peace and quiet due to the location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Could not use spa because it was fully booked before our arrival. Close to town and Cheltenham. Restaurant was decent with a fair selection of wines and choices on menu. Room was very clean although a bit warm. It remained warmer than outside even with the windows open all the time. A fan was provided. Bed was very large and comfortable. Bathroom clean and functional. We enjoyed our stay.

Lovely Stay

Joanne, West Midlands, stayed: June 2021

An extremely relaxing and comfortable stay. The room was beautiful with a lovely private terrace and views over the golf course.
The bed was so comfortable and the coffee and tea were of a very high quality.
The food and service in the restaurant were outstanding.
My partner wasn t happy with his meal and it was replaced without question within 6 minutes. An amazing experience all round. Came away feeling completely relaxed.
