Great food but poor value

Andrew, Buckinghamshire, stayed: March 2019

The package offer of one night in a deluxe room for two, with pre dinner cocktail, 2 course meal and breakfast is not great value. The service and food are great but when we tried to choose a cocktail from the cocktail list we were told that drinks from that list weren't included in our package..we had to have a cherry meals are sold as 3 courses for 47 so I estimate that our 2 courses would be valued at 40 the cost of bed and breakfast was c . 170 for the 2 of us. The quality of the room and breakfast is not high enough to justify this price. Overall I would go to Eckington manor for food, but not for the room or breakfast.

We say...

Thank you for your review and feedback.

We are disappointed to hear you felt this way regarding your stay.

This hotel has been awarded the highest accolade by the British Tourism Authority.  Other reviews are very good and we are proud to have Eckington Manor within our portfilio.

Our packages have since changed slightly and we are not offering slightly differing packages to suit our customers.

Kind regards,

Off Peak Luxury

It s not what you think

Anon, stayed: April 2025

The photo and title of this establishment makes you think you re staying in a Manor House not a barn conversion. We stayed 3 nights and menu had 4 items + a veggie and as I don t eat fish I was limited to a choice of pork chop or share duck with my husband. Not ideal. Same for starters, pate asparagus salmon or something else. Very restrictive. When I suggested an alternative starter I was offered steak tartar!
The bed was very comfortable once I d asked for a feather pillow.
Matt the waiter was top notch

Disappointing

KC, Gloucestershire, stayed: September 2021

Arrived at the Manor but our room was in a separate farm building overlooking the car park. Very disappointing.
The first room offered us was small and windowless , apart from a roof window, felt very cell like.
We were moved to a room with a window, but it wasn't much better. People walk right past the window and the car park was the only view.
The restaurant was not very atmospheric and we were promised a candlelit dinner but not a candle in sight! Paper napkins and no tablecloth .
Food disappointing
Staff were friendly and helpful but I would not recommend this hotel.
