Wonderful Stay

Benita, Cheshire, stayed: May 2024

Upon arriving at the hotel we struggled to find reception but once we did were warmly greeted by reception staff and the owner who advised they had given us a 'little upgrade'. We were taken across to our room which was in a row and shared a porch with one other room. The room was fairly well equipped but lacked storage space, the bathroom was lovely with a large shower; hair conditioner and body lotion would have been nice. Not long after entering our room a waiter brought in our glass of prosecco and we also had a nice gift of a bottle of apple juice.

The evening meal in the restaurant was delicious and the setting very nice. Breakfast on the first morning was also in the restaurant and was very good. Breakfast the second morning was in the bar and we were the only guests, being given one on one service was lovely. The restaurant wasn't open on Sunday night but the receptionist had kindly provided the names of a couple of establishments within walking distance and the one we chose was very nice.

The area the hotel was situated in was lovely, very close to the River Avon which had a nice footpath running alongside it.

This is the first hotel I have stayed in where the office was closed on our departure day and we had to ring a number to establish what to do with our room key, causing us to have to leave the room door unlocked which was a little worrying. Our bill was emailed across a couple of days later as we had left credit card details.

Overall a very quaint hotel in a nice area with friendly staff and excellent food.

Well done.

Beautiful place, lovely staff, great trip!

Sarah, stayed: March 2024

We visited Eckington Manor to get away for a weekend in the late stages of my pregnancy. It felt like the absolute perfect place for a babymoon! Staff were very thoughtful in giving us a ground floor (upgraded!) room with the most luxurious roll top bath, offering me "nosecco" and generally being super friendly - we had such a lovely stay. Loads to do nearby and the onsite restaurant was great. Really good value for money through offpeakluxury and we will most definitely be back.

One very small suggestion for improvement would be a brief info pack in the rooms with e.g. breakfast times (different on sat and sun), some recommendations for local attractions, information about facilities such as the bar and cooking school. Staff had all this info but sometimes it's useful to just be able to check for yourself!

Great food but watch for the extra's

DD, stayed: March 2023

A very welcoming place with a great restaurant, had the 7 course dinner and wine flight that was brilliant quality. Only issue as the billing, VAT added and it cost more than we expected.

Would return for the excellent food and excellent service and cosy ambience. Bath was fantastic !

Great Restaurant

Anon, stayed: April 2022

Nice room, but lacked really useable storage space, so we ended up living out of our bags. There were drawers and a very small wardrobe, but in the end it just seemed easier not to unpack.

Room did lack natural light, but bed was comfortable, bathroom and shower were lovely.

Excellent food and wine in the restaurant - Well worth a visit for this alone.

I would recommend upgrading to one of the better rooms, as these seemed to have the things we lacked.

Disappointing

KC, Gloucestershire, stayed: September 2021

Arrived at the Manor but our room was in a separate farm building overlooking the car park. Very disappointing.
The first room offered us was small and windowless , apart from a roof window, felt very cell like.
We were moved to a room with a window, but it wasn't much better. People walk right past the window and the car park was the only view.
The restaurant was not very atmospheric and we were promised a candlelit dinner but not a candle in sight! Paper napkins and no tablecloth .
Food disappointing
Staff were friendly and helpful but I would not recommend this hotel.
