Filthy and rundown

CE, Pembrokeshire, stayed: September 2024

The carpets through the corridors and dirty and stained and are not hoovered daily as I had to step over dirt on 3 days of my stay. Food is poor quality nearly dislocated jaw on steak. Service for restaurant is slow. All food is over seasoned so I suspect chef smokes. Reception is not constantly maned and I had to knock on office door for assistance as my door key card kept failing and they had to reboot system. Room was clean except for the bathroom as shower head covered in black mould which i had to clean and the sink drains were to retching level late at night. Staff were smiley and bed comfortable. Loads of cobwebs around windows and frames filfhy. As part of deal i was given half bottle of champagne which was poor quality and the ice bucket leaked. Will not go back ever!!

A pleasant stay

DL, Wiltshire, stayed: September 2024

We stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our room was nice with a view of the garden but the bathroom could do with an update. Food in the restaurant was every tasty and staff very efficient and friendly. The hotel was within walking distance of a bus stop with a regular service to Gloucester.

Wonderful Hotel in a Beautiful Setting

Rachel, stayed: September 2024

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. It is a gorgeous hotel surrounded by woods and has a lake. The staff could not have been more helpful. Our room was spacious and well equipped with lovely views out on to the trees. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Will definitely return.

The Cotswolds

GT, Roxburghshire, stayed: August 2024

Our first time in the Cotswolds and Gloucester. We had a lovely stay and the quality of the hotel was an important factor. The food was excellent and the rooms were comfortable and spacious. The room temperature was a bit high at night with no way to control that. Everything else was well within an acceptable level of quality.

Relaxing break

JB, Dorset, stayed: August 2024

We found every single member of staff to be friendly, efficient and helpful.

Difficult to find, not helped by surrounding road closures, but lovely location with plenty of parking.

Would definitely like to pay a return visit.

Inexpensive break without pretence

MH, Hampshire, stayed: August 2024

Inexpensive break without pretence. Not a luxury hotel but clean & tidy with "pub grub". Friendly staff.
