The restaurant was disappointing.
The food was average but the waiter service was poor. We had to wait 30mins for our stater course and another 20 minutes for our main course. We were told there was a wedding on which delayed kitchen service. This should not have affected us.

A good break from the norm

JZ, Somerset, stayed: October 2024

It was my first hotel experience for about 30 years and my sister and I thoroughly enjoyed it away from the routine of life.
The grounds and facilities were restful and enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was good and plentiful.
I have not used offpeakluxury before but would certainly use it again. The value for money went over and above.
Thank you for the experience.

Friendly stay in a tired hotel

Anon, stayed: October 2024

Really lovely staff- at reception and especially in the restaurant. The ladies doing breakfast were so sympathetic to my friends allergies and ensured that she was exclusively catered to throughout our stay.

Unfortunately the hotel itself was a little scruffy around the edges and definitely more of a good 3 star than a 4 star hotel.

The recent refurbishment of the accommodation didn t extend to the bathrooms and ours unfortunately had a damp problem. The cleanliness of the room was poor and the hotel definitely had a moth problem.

Overall we had a nice stay but won t be returning.

Superb stay

Adrian, Cornwall, stayed: September 2024

The young man on reception, Henry, was exceptional, sorting out all our queries and needs in a friendly and efficient manner. All the staff at the hotel were very welcoming and friendly.
Evening meal was good and although the hotel and dining room was busy with a Coach party we did not have to wait long for our orders as there were plenty of staff on duty. The buffet breakfast had plenty of choice, both hot and cold, and set you up for the day.
Plenty of secure parking and lovely grounds.
There might be a problem for guests with mobility issues as there are no lifts in the hotel, though no doubt the excellent staff would assist with luggage.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return.

Different head waiter completely forgot to send order to kitchen and we ended up eating our courses separately. No apologies from him only from other waitresses who expressed there ambarrasment.
