Great value country break

Booked late and got a great deal at this lovely hotel. Impressed with decor, staff, food (lovely restaurant and bar area) and welcome. Particularly impressed that the promised champagne was chilling nicely on arrival - not all hotels remember the detail so we loved that they d done this.

Lovely hotel with beautiful grounds . Excellent front of house and restaurant staff. Great food. Amazing breakfast. Will be back again.

Pleasant Staff, Food disappointing and Room was very disappointing

The Public rooms are lovely and the staff are friendly and efficient..
Our room was very disappointing, huge bed which meant there was only room for a bedside table on one side. No wardrobe or drawers, just narrow shelves and a small rail ( made me think of a Travelodge)
But the biggest problem was the very close proximity of a towering and very thick hedge which meant the room was dark and felt quite oppressive.

Breakfast choices were good. A hot and cold buffet, however the hot food was generally not hot enough..
Dinner menu in the restaurant was for us quite restrictive, Pizza and Burgers are not our thing, and the other choices for us were quite limited. I would normally check out menus before booking but sadly on this occasion I did not.

Pleasant hotel set in lovely grounds

The staff at Bowden Hall are exceptional. They are welcoming, friendly, efficient and helpful. The bedroom was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had an overall very pleasant stay in a lovely location.
There was a good choice of breakfast food. The hotel is let down by the poor quality produce and cooking in the restaurant. The food was not always as described on the menu.The restaurant staff were efficient and lovely and complaints were dealt with promptly.

The hotel was perfect for our one night stay. Ideally located for some country walks. Great food and friendly staff.
