Review
There was a long wait at reception when arrived.
The bed was not at the standard expected as ir was 2 singles pushed together and kept seaparating leaving a gap .. not what is expected of a double / king room.
The bathroom floor and carpet outside was also very slippy for some reason and a couple of times nearly fell
The food was very good at the meal and the spa was also lovely. Apart from the two issues above we would like to return
Good weekend away
This deal was a very good offer, the hotel was relaxing, and welcoming. Lovely that the dog could come into the bar with us. The rooms were comfortable, dinner was ok, breakfast was nice, the late checkout was a bonus, would visit again.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay ( we have stayed at your hotel before), we had a lovely time.
I was not very impressed with one of your Restaurant Staff, I found this member of staff, not very welcoming, rude and not helpful with requests. May I suggest additional customer service training is required.
2 night break
The hotel is an imposing building set in a beautiful landscape, very near to Stratford-on-Avon. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our double room was clean and warm with tea-making facilities. The spa is modern, with pool, jacuzzi, steam room, laconium and sauna. Towels are provided. Breakfast, both hot and cold, was plentiful. The restaurant food was also of high quality. If I had to quibble about anything, it would be lack of information regarding the spa. It is in a separate building, so you have to walk outside to get to it. Also you need 1 for a locker key, which would have been useful to know. Other than that we had a lovely relaxing weekend, and would definitely stay there again
Great location
The hotel is in a good countryside location, with lots of walks including into Stratford directly from the car park. The spa had a few items out of order which was a shame. The restaurant menu had some good choices on both nights. The golf course is good, and nearby, and some holes come nearly to the hotel.

Description not matched by reality
A beautiful looking building that we had not visited for over 50 years. Time and service standards have not been kind to The Welcombe. The package for our two night stay included : A welcome drink on arrival, not given. Expected early occupation promise not delivered and our room, on the second floor, was up four flights of stairs. (The property does not have a lift) The room was okay even though the sash windows in all but one of the units could not be opened and one set overlooked the hotel refuse area. We had to ask for shower toiletries as those left in the room were all shampoo and lotion.
Bar staff although willing were inexperienced and the stock available did not match all those offered in the bar menu. The restaurant greeter asked if we were on a dinner, bed and breakfast tariff we were so were told that we could choose only two courses from the limited table d hote menu. The food was good and the portions generous. Compared with other four star hotels the breakfast selection and standard was poor. I shared my concerns with the office staff and was offered free drinks in the bar and evening snacks from the bar to make amends for the missed welcom drinks and dinner course.
The fact that thre aren t any lifts in this property should feature in both your website and that of the hotel.
RELAXING BREAK
Had i known it was a Best Western Hotel i would not have booked it.
The building and grounds are magnificent but as mentioned, being a Best Western, it attracted a lower class of customer.
It took 20 minutes to check in.
The restaurant staff were attentative, friendly and efficient. The food choice and quality was excellent.
