Overall very good but food not too good. We had to wait 1 hour 10 mins for the first course on the Monday night.  Breakfast seemed to be overcooked and luke warm..

Romantic Get-Away

Keith, Woodville Swadlincote Derbyshire, stayed: September 2015

Had a lovely two night romantic stay. On arrival, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, the only fault being that there was no bath and as the hotel was full, there was no possibility of changing rooms. Having said that, the room was spacious, with oak panelling. As we had chosen the 'romantic get-away' package, champagne, hand-made chocolates and flowers were delivered to the room on our arrival, which was a lovely surprise for me. The gardens were beautiful and well tended and the restaurant provided us with excellent food on the two nights that we stayed. All in all, a lovely weekend stay.

We say...

We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at The Wood Norton.

We recommend that you contact our reservations team should you have any particular requirements, for example a bath in the room, and we can then contact the hotel and establish if this can be arranged prior to your arrival.

Thank you for your feedback and the hotel hope to welcome you back soon.

Kind regards

Stunning hotel luxurious rooms

KG, Essex, stayed: September 2015

The hotel is a perfect hotel for a nice relaxing break. We had one of the luxury rooms and it was worth the extra as it was huge with nice views and everything we had hoped for. The service in the bar and restaurant was very friendly but slow at times although it has such a relaxing feel to the place we weren't in any rush anyway. The food was of a high standard although the choice in the evening meal was a bit limited, breakfast was fresh with loads of choice and the afternoon tea was worth having too.  All in all we had a great time and would definitely stay again.

Charming Wood Norton

Raj D, Middlesex, stayed: August 2015

Delighted with our one night stay here in the Duc D'orleans Suite. Rooms were stunning and very luxurious. Loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom complete with roll top bath and Molton Brown goodies. We had a cream tea included in our offer. Was nice. We ate in the restaurant. Good quality food although we thought the portions were small. Wine excellent. Overall ambience excellent, perfect for a romantic getaway. Buffet breakfast was lovely. We will return and try out food from the bar next time.

Short stay in a French Palace

BW, Winchester, stayed: August 2015

Lovely food, lovely accommodation, friendly helpful staff. Lovely area. The Wood Norton has a lot of history but it has to be wheedled out, it should be boasted about. Other hotels have the food, the accommodation, the staff but few have such an interesting background.
