Relaxing midweek break

CH, Surrey, stayed: October 2023

A welcoming ambience. The staff were both friendly and helpful and the rooms clean and well presented with plenty of space, comfortable beds and, in our case, an excellent position opposite hotel amenities: reception, restaurant and lounge area. The stay was only spoilt on the first day by lack of heating in the room and bedroom. This was later switched on but unfortunately was off in the morning. Thankfully this was rectified on the second day.

ENJOYABLE STAY

Tony B, Mid Glamorgan, stayed: November 2023

Pleasant country hotel. Room was warm and comfortable with large bathroom with separate shower, huge bed and good amenities. The food was excellent, and the waitress friendly and helpful.

Lovely staff, clean room

Anon, stayed: February 2025

The room was clean and a reasonable size.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful.
The hotel itself felt very much like a wedding venue.
We had a reduced menu for dinner as the chef was off. The food was fine, but nothing to write home about. Breakfast was much the same.

Good value but not luxury

Anon, stayed: February 2025

Helpful reception staff who went to a lot of trouble to ensure I had a quiet room. Some parts of the hotel looked a bit shabby. Didn't like the fact that there were no members of staff at the premises overnight. An emergency number was given.

Poor Customer Service

ER, North Somerset, stayed: December 2024

I have stayed with my family at The Moonraker just before Christmas for several years. Standards have slipped in most areas, which is a real shame. My wife left an item at the hotel when we left; I called the hotel within two hours and they promised to check and call me back, but no one did. I called several times and spoke to two different people, who also promised to call back, but didn t. I tried calling several times over the course of 3 days, but no one answered the phone. I emailed the Managing Director, but received no reply, which sums up the attitude they have to customer service.
