The Heyford
Sat nav. directions at end sent us down a dead end about 3/4 of a mile from actual hotel.
Not a good start.
Shortage of staff as receptionist was helping out in bar when we arrived, had to seek them out.
Breakfast was excellent.
Disabled room was also 1st class.
Evening menu not to our taste as we prefer British cuisine.
Boutique hotel could do better
We were surprised to find the hotel on the high st which was situated in the middle of new property development. The satnav directions were difficult to follow and directed us twice to incorrect locations. The car park was extremely small and spaces narrow with little turning options. The room was very nice in both fittings and furniture and had a modern feel to it. The bathroom only had a shower over the bath, a walk-in shower would have been preferable. A grab rail is needed for guests to help with this situation. The bed was king size but there was room for a super king size. A second chair and small table would also be useful rather than having to sit on the bed. Jack, reception, was an extremely helpful member of staff, and also knowledgeable about the area, facilitated the extra chair for us. There was an outdoor seating area for the room with a notice advising that the decking maybe slippy when it rains which reduced its accessibility.
The restaurant was modern with very helpful staff. Josh,(J), was extremely attentive and helped explain how the meal allowance worked. Whilst the food was good, the menu was very limited with burgers and pizzas being the main choices. The evening meal allowance of 70 per room should include drinks as it was difficult to spend this amount. The breakfast was limited in choice but well cooked. The portion sizes were generous.
Good stay but the location and evening meal let this hotel down.
When we booked this hotel we thought it was in the countryside. However on entering the village we quickly realised that the hotel was in the middle of a housing estate, and houses were still being built opposite. The staff were very welcoming when we arrived and the rooms are huge and have all the best fixtures and fittings. Although our room overlooked the main road through the village, the soundproofing was excellent and we hardly heard it.
We had a meal in the restaurant as part of the package. The food wasn't good at all and was more like poor pub grub. There were also children running round the restaurant, which didn't make for a relaxing evening. After our meal we thought we would sit in the bar and have a few drinks. Unfortunately, there was load music from the TV music channel and it was very noisy and full of the locals from the surrounding houses, who were quite noisy when they left at closing time (unfortunately, the sound proofing didn't block out the noise of them shouting).
We had 2 games of bowling while we were there, which was good fun and breakfast was much better than the meal we had the night before. So, overall we had a good stay but the location doesn't make for a relaxing weekend.

Weekend stay
All the staff were fantastic and could not do enough for you , room was fantastic , bathroom was out of this world , balcony was ok but no view and in November a bit pointless.food for evening meal was fantastic , breakfast was good .
helpful staff
Lovely hotel with very helpful staff
Not what you would expect but a surprising hotel
Booked as birthday present some what disappointed with location but that s my fault for not checking better. Having said that hotel was luxurious rooms to very high standard.
Gourmet restaurant was not to our liking but the full English was top draw. Location great for Oxford and Blenheim Palace so weekend ended on high.
Heyford Hotel
Stayed here due to wanting to be nearer to Bicester so we could go shopping. The hotel was modern and we were welcomed to a Halloween event being held the next night which we attended. Overall our stay was good, but the service seemed to be disjointed at times.
