Birthday break
The party of four all enjoyed the break in this lovely hotel. The only issue we had was the food menu was very small and the same every night, Asked for an omelette for breakfast but was told the chef did not have the right equipment to cook one...! Would stay again as the staff were very friendly and welcoming

Lovely hotel
What a lovely stay at this clean, fresh and very welcoming hotel with friendly helpful staff. I can t wait to visit again.
Short break stay
A visit to meet friends celebrating a birthday - just a 1 night stay.
The staff were excellent both at arrival and the bar/restaurant.
Bedroom was OK and spacious but carpet was stained.
Food in restaurant was excellent with order having been taken in lounge bar.
1 night stay
Check in and room very good. Restaurant unable to provide either full fat milk or cream at both dinner and breakfast. Waiter got breakfast order wrong twice after which we gave up. More training required for junior members of staff. Receptionist who checked us out was very efficient.
The MacLean mini break
My Mum and I had a great 4 night mini holiday. Our room was super comfortable, and very clean. All the staff, from bar, to dining room, reception and housekeeping were friendly, helpful and professional. The quality of food is excellent, we had supper every evening, and our only request would be to vary the menu by at least having a different special of the day every day. Over 4 evenings, we worked our way through the menu between us, with Mum having the Bibury fish twice it was very good and beat the gnocchi.
A Fabulous Stay
We stayed at the Hare and Hounds a few weeks ago, it was a surprise for my husband's birthday.
On arrival we were welcomed at the reception. We had the room upstairs number 9, it was roomy, airy, light and clean. We needed more supplies and wine glasses which promptly came to our room.
We felt very relaxed and although there was a wedding on, it didn't really impact our stay.
We had dinner in the Jack Hare's Bar which was utterly delicous. The waiting staff were exceptionally attentive, even suggesting the best table in a cosy nook to sit in. We had delicous food, lovely wine and topped off with a cocktail. Breakfast was prompt and delicious too, it was nice to have the buffet again and a full cooked breakfast. We had a lovely stay and hope to return again in the near future.
