Two night Getaway Break

Robert C, Warwick, stayed: June 2014

We enjoyed a very pleasant break earlier in the year. Room & En-suite all very clean and fresh with nice crisp bed linen. Moulton Brown accessories were an especially nice touch. Champagne left in the room ahead of arrival which was not as chilled as we would have liked. May be useful for this to be brought to the room soon after check-in. Restaurant meals were very well prepared & highly rated for presentation. Only criticism would be that the inclusive breakfast menu was quite limited on choice so a stay of longer than 2 nights would be a bit restricting. Staff were all very attentive and very approachable.. We hope to keep an eye out for future offers on breaks at The Hare & Hounds.

The Hare and Hounds says...

Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. Champagne is normally taken to the room ahead of arrival in an ice bucket because it makes a welcoming sight for a guest entering the room. At this point it should be ice only and no water, which should leave it properly chilled. A reminder to housekeeping has been made for the future and we thank you for raising this to our attention. If guests stay longer than two nights, our Chef will happily provide special dishes on the subsequent evenings. Our staff are aware of this and inform the Chef when we have long stayers. Regarding breakfast we offer a full continental buffet together with a wide selection from the hot menu.
We do hope to welcome you back to The Hare and Hounds soon.
Kind regards

Stay 29 Sept

CT, Bucks, stayed: September 2014

This hotel was suggested to us by off peak - consultant was friendly and very helpful.

Hotel was lovely, excellent clean, fresh smelling rooms. Restaurant food fabulous. Pub food also very good (located in hotel). Staff were very friendly and helpful (Judy went above and beyond to make our stay special, a real asset to the hotel).

Lovely Hotel

KL, Hampshire, stayed: October 2014

Had a really lovely stay at this beautiful hotel. The room was nicely furnished with plenty of space. There was an extensive selection of teas and coffee in the room, gorgeous toiletries in the bathroom and handy bathrobes and slippers to use. However the best part of the stay was the fine dining which was excellent. My husband and I would definitely return to this hotel and wished we had booked for longer.

A Great Place for a Short Break

DR, Middlesex, stayed: November 2014

One of the best short breaks we have had. Room was lovely and extremely comfortable and relaxing.
Restaurant was beautiful and food was of a high standard. The wine list was extensive with some great good value wines.
The staff were attentive and friendly. Look forward to going back!

Fantastic way to break the January blues!

Anon, stayed: January 2015

We stayed at the Hare and Hounds early January, we booked the Gamekeepers Cottage which was amazing, from walking in it was cosy, clean, well laid out, decorated perfectly and well just lovely. The bedroom was beautiful and we slept better than we have in ages, the separate double shower a real treat, the bathroom cosy and relaxing, a few candles and the music channel on the tv and I didn't want to get out. Lovely comfy living room and nice table area where we had breakfast one morning so we didn't even need to leave the room. Obviously the main additional extra to this room is the outdoor hot tub, a lovely treat completely private and something very special.
Once you get over how amazing the room is you then have the main hotel, staff polite, friendly and informative, the various rooms, bar/lounge/restaurant relaxing and well kept with a lovely roaring fireplace. As part of our stay we had the 8 course tasting menu which was a real treat, hats off to the chef here, also required is a massive thank you to our waitress who was lovely, talked us through each course, happy, polite and she made our evening. Breakfast was good, products, presentation and execution all great. We did also have Sunday lunch in the bar which was nice, the only thing I would say is get in early as they only had 2 roast options on and by the time we got there it was down to 1 but this I suppose is the sign of a good place!
I have one complaint, well its not even a complaint but one thing I would change is there is no wardrobe/drawers in the bedroom, you have to unpack and hang your clothes in the little cupboard out by the front door which, if you are like me is a bit annoying when you have to keep walking back out there when deciding on an outfit and I do like my clothes to be in the bedroom by the mirror. This would not however deter me from staying again, everything else was so good I would just go prepared with a clothes rail!!! Off Peak Luxury triumphed once again with both the package and service! Two very happy guests, very sad to leave!

A fabulous mid week break

Anthony, Kent, stayed: March 2015

I booked the hotel for a few days break with my wife, oh and our two dogs!! Well not knowing what to expect from our room seeing as we had the dogs I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was fabulous. Clean, comfy bed, even supplied the dogs with one each and a bowl although we took our own this was a nice touch and may have saved some room in the car. The hotel staff were lovely very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Beautiful surroundings and worth driving out to some other surrounding villages. The food was great and we would return for breakfast alone. Overall a fantastic break and beautiful place to get away from it all.

Worth a visit

jill, stayed: March 2015

Great location, fabulous food and friendly staff.
The only negative was we were 'given' a dinner booking time before our arrival. Despite attempts to force us to dine early we did eventually get our desired time approved.

We say...

We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at The Hare and Hounds.
When making your reservation we are happy to book you a table for dinner, subject to availability, so do please let us know if you have a preferred dining time should you wish to return to the hotel.
Kind regards
