Beautiful location ,friendly welcome with delicious dining
We had a lovely stay in a comfortable Silkwood room with a super king size bed. Dining in the restaurant on both nights we had the the most delicious food . Highly recommend the crab and lobster ravioli and the lamb main course.
Lovely Hotel for a Weekend Break
Really nice hotel with a superb restaurant, the bedroom was very large but the bathroom was very dated and needed refurbushing
Anniversary celbrations
We enjoyed our stay at the Hare and Hounds. We had a lovely meal in the evening the food was excellent and the waiter service was good, didn't rush us when deciding what to have. As the waitress had an accent we sometimes were unable to understand what she said. She was very good though very patient with us. It was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. In the afertnoon we had tea, which I thought was very reasonable as far as cost. The room was good although as the heating was on all night it made the room a bit stuffy. We also had a very good breakfast.
Anniversary treat a bit disappointing
Went to celebrate special anniversary and was Disappointed with evening meal, the fish was burned also Choices available poor. Breakfast excellent.
A very pleasant stay
The Hare and Hounds is a lovely hotel near Tetbury, Highgrove and the National Arboretum. Very welcoming, lovely rooms, beautiful gardens and great service in the bar and restaurant. I would recommend a stay here without hesitation.
Pre Christmas Break
Lovely hotel; only issues were that we were not given the table we thought that we had reserved (twice) in the Beaufort Restaurant . Also, we had to ask for the fire to kept alight in the Drawing Room after dinner, which the receptionist did with reluctance. It almost seemed that staff or management wanted to close down the Drawing Room after early evening, for example used gin and tonic glasses had not been cleared away when we returned to the Drawing Room after dinner looking forward to a roaring log fire ( which was eventually provided). There was obviously a management issue concerning how the Drawing Room was staffed .
We wondered why we could t reserve a table of our choice being told that they usually fill up the tables from the windows outwards.
Our Silkwood Room was stunning which will attract us to return whilst the food in the Beaufort Room for dinner and breakfast was excellent .
A great birthday present (if tricky to wrap)
Whilst planning my wife's 40th, I thought it would be nice to find us a place to stay that was grander than our normal choice of hotel and offered some great food in a special setting.
The Hare and Hounds turned out to a fantastic choice. Set in a lovely location, with friendly staff, wonderful food and spacious, comfortable rooms. I'll certainly be staying there again. Hopefully before my wife turns 80.
