Bit of a wedding venue, really
We went to the Hare & Hounds for my mother's 90th. I must say, it was a bargain. We got a great deal that included B&B and a tasting menu for dinner. The food was fantastic, and we took the flight of wines, which were perfect. Lovely dinner. Breakfast was good too, with proper table service. The twin room for my mother and sister was very comfortable. I had a single, which really was a single. Glad I didn't bring a cat to swing. There was a wedding on, which rather dominated the hotel. I must say, it all went quiet about 11pm, which was fair.
Superb Stay
Stayed with friends at the start of our 4 day break. Could not have been better. Excellent from the time we checked in! Rooms are of a period charm with quality furnishings throughout. Dinner was a gourmet experience to die for and represented amazing value for money with helpful and professional staff on duty at all times. Breakfast served again in the Dining room was very special. Would have no hesitation in recommending to the most discerning guests. Will return. Thankyou
Room condition
We stayed at your hotel in a cottage 5 years ago and was amazed at the decor and comfort. Sadly on our visit this time the room in your main building was tired looking and the carpet very stained. We did enquire if another room was available but there wasn't one. We may try one of your other hotels next time.
Great rooms and food
Lovely hotel and food. We've been several times before and it's always lovely. They made our 2 dogs very welcome and are seriously geared up for them. The food is delicious with lots of variety. Good cheese board and wine selection. We didn't want to go home at the end of our stay! I highly recommend the hotel.
Great get-away
My husband and I as well as our two grown- up daughters spent a night at this lovely hotel. We all stayed in the main building, which was great. Our room faced the front and was very spacious. We all enjoyed the good quality fizz before dinner! The restaurant was in an impressive hall. The food was excellent, really gourmet and the staff really pleasant and helpful - attentive without being fussy. The bathroom was good with a large bath. The bed was very comfortable.
The only slightly negative was that the wifi diidn't work properly, but for an overnight stay that didn't really matter. Overall it was a great experience.
A wonderful escape in the middle of the beautiful Cotswolds!
We couldn't have chosen a more relaxing, lovely place to spend a romantic Valentine's weekend away! The staff was welcoming and very helpful, the 11 course Valentine's dinner was amazing, our room was large and very comfortable and we look forward to being able to return to this little bit of heaven!
A very pleasant stay
Staff very helpful and friendly, good reception. Our room was luxurious and large. Restaurant very good and the food in the bar good value. Comfortable lounges and a lovely garden to relax, the only downside is the noise from the road, thankfully it isn't a very busy road. If visiting Highgrove only minutes away, Tetbury is a delightful village.
Autumn colour break.
Overall a very enjoyable two night break.Truly excellent breakfasts. The evening gourmet dinner experience was very memorable. A little quibble about the wines. They were variable in quality. I had a glass of merlot on the first night which was poor but then a glass of malbec which was excellent. My wife found her sauvignon blanc poor but her next choice very good. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. We definitely intend to make a return visit.
