Superb Stay
Stayed with friends at the start of our 4 day break. Could not have been better. Excellent from the time we checked in! Rooms are of a period charm with quality furnishings throughout. Dinner was a gourmet experience to die for and represented amazing value for money with helpful and professional staff on duty at all times. Breakfast served again in the Dining room was very special. Would have no hesitation in recommending to the most discerning guests. Will return. Thankyou
Bit of a wedding venue, really
We went to the Hare & Hounds for my mother's 90th. I must say, it was a bargain. We got a great deal that included B&B and a tasting menu for dinner. The food was fantastic, and we took the flight of wines, which were perfect. Lovely dinner. Breakfast was good too, with proper table service. The twin room for my mother and sister was very comfortable. I had a single, which really was a single. Glad I didn't bring a cat to swing. There was a wedding on, which rather dominated the hotel. I must say, it all went quiet about 11pm, which was fair.

Worth a visit
Great location, fabulous food and friendly staff.
The only negative was we were 'given' a dinner booking time before our arrival. Despite attempts to force us to dine early we did eventually get our desired time approved.
A fabulous mid week break
I booked the hotel for a few days break with my wife, oh and our two dogs!! Well not knowing what to expect from our room seeing as we had the dogs I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was fabulous. Clean, comfy bed, even supplied the dogs with one each and a bowl although we took our own this was a nice touch and may have saved some room in the car. The hotel staff were lovely very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Beautiful surroundings and worth driving out to some other surrounding villages. The food was great and we would return for breakfast alone. Overall a fantastic break and beautiful place to get away from it all.
Fantastic way to break the January blues!
We stayed at the Hare and Hounds early January, we booked the Gamekeepers Cottage which was amazing, from walking in it was cosy, clean, well laid out, decorated perfectly and well just lovely. The bedroom was beautiful and we slept better than we have in ages, the separate double shower a real treat, the bathroom cosy and relaxing, a few candles and the music channel on the tv and I didn't want to get out. Lovely comfy living room and nice table area where we had breakfast one morning so we didn't even need to leave the room. Obviously the main additional extra to this room is the outdoor hot tub, a lovely treat completely private and something very special.
Once you get over how amazing the room is you then have the main hotel, staff polite, friendly and informative, the various rooms, bar/lounge/restaurant relaxing and well kept with a lovely roaring fireplace. As part of our stay we had the 8 course tasting menu which was a real treat, hats off to the chef here, also required is a massive thank you to our waitress who was lovely, talked us through each course, happy, polite and she made our evening. Breakfast was good, products, presentation and execution all great. We did also have Sunday lunch in the bar which was nice, the only thing I would say is get in early as they only had 2 roast options on and by the time we got there it was down to 1 but this I suppose is the sign of a good place!
I have one complaint, well its not even a complaint but one thing I would change is there is no wardrobe/drawers in the bedroom, you have to unpack and hang your clothes in the little cupboard out by the front door which, if you are like me is a bit annoying when you have to keep walking back out there when deciding on an outfit and I do like my clothes to be in the bedroom by the mirror. This would not however deter me from staying again, everything else was so good I would just go prepared with a clothes rail!!! Off Peak Luxury triumphed once again with both the package and service! Two very happy guests, very sad to leave!
A Great Place for a Short Break
One of the best short breaks we have had. Room was lovely and extremely comfortable and relaxing.
Restaurant was beautiful and food was of a high standard. The wine list was extensive with some great good value wines.
The staff were attentive and friendly. Look forward to going back!
Lovely Hotel
Had a really lovely stay at this beautiful hotel. The room was nicely furnished with plenty of space. There was an extensive selection of teas and coffee in the room, gorgeous toiletries in the bathroom and handy bathrobes and slippers to use. However the best part of the stay was the fine dining which was excellent. My husband and I would definitely return to this hotel and wished we had booked for longer.
