Everything was excellent

James C, West Midlands, stayed: April 2026

Everything was excellent. On arrival Alan greeted us, he was super friendly and helpful and when we had a couple of questions about using our voucher and room service, he found the answer as quickly as possible. I'd love Alan to get a shout or or some reward as he was absolutely excellent. The food from Marcos was great. As was the room. Only complaint was that the bathroom got very wet and we couldn't use the towel drying rack.

Great dinner, bed and breakfast package

Anon, stayed: March 2026

Staff very helpful, food in restaurant really nice. Room very comfortable.

Shame bar didn t have any of the cocktails advertised due to not having the ingredients available and that there was only one bottle of rose wine in the hotel.

Would be nice to know that rest of hotel was taken over by a private party. But we were well served by all of the team.

In need of a revamp

DM, Lancashire, stayed: June 2025

This hotel is in a nice quiet location. Overall it s a nice hotel with a great Restaraunt.
I can only comment on room we stayed in which unfortunately is in need of some repairs. The room size is okay and there was an excellent shower in the en-suite. However the windows were rotting in fact we had to be extremely careful not to break them when opening and closing them. Also the door you had to shove, push and slam to open and close. Ironic really when situated next to a sign saying respect other residents. It was impossible to close the door without making a noise.
Also after returning from first day out we came back to find room hadn t been refreshed. Reception then told me they don t normally do it?. We had been in two previous hotels to our stay here and both cleaned the rooms. In one case you put a sign on door asking to clean. Sorry but an hotel like this needs to sort this out. We have stopped at several Countryhotels and this is the first that didn t clean the rooms as normal.
Staff were fine and otherwise it was okay.
I would only stay here again if knowing these issues had been resolved.

Colin, Devon, stayed: February 2025

The hotel was nice but in parts it looked like it need some upgrades The room was excellent it there was 2 problems the first was there was a bad draft coming through the window so we had to have the heating on all the time the trim on the carpet had screw heads prominent
The bar area was nice the staff were excellent the only thing that let it down was some guests that were staying there over night was using very bad language ie swearing the bar staff asked them to curb there language which they did I know you get that but it was bad and not good for your establishment We were unable to have starters as you were short on staff we was not told this until we went to order we could have be advised on check in
