Quaint hotel!

Anon, stayed: July 2020

We had just a one night stay, prior to an appointment in Oxford the next day. It was perfect for what we needed. The rooms are comfortable, clean, individual, and luckily we are used to sloping floors!

The hotel is next to Abbey Gardens and perfectly located for a gorgeous stroll around Andersey Island, plus it is easy access into Oxford. Waitrose is just around the corner if you need supplies of anything!

The staff were friendly and pleasant, and the dinner and breakfast were good quality too. We would definitely recommend a stay here and the Off Peak Luxury package is good value.

Great surroundings

SH, Cumbria, stayed: August 2020

We stayed for 2 nights in what must have been the hottest week of the year, we could not believe our luck to find our room had air conditioning!! Lovely quiet room and all well presented! Food great and staff very chatty and helpful.

Friendly

Robert, Gloucestershire, stayed: September 2020

The staff were very friendly and entered into conversation. The accommodation was comfortable and as expected. My concerns were that our main meal was not always served on hot plates and the hot water in the en-suite hand basin never ran hot even though I asked for this to be checked. It was not a concern in the shower or bath. I did find that the shower basin was slippery and could a non slip mat be provided. We were however able to use the bath instead. We would recommend the Crown and Thistle.

The hotel itself I realise is very old but it could do with a refurb but we enjoyed the restaurant and the staff were very accommodating

Just what we needed!

Leane, Hertfordshire, stayed: September 2020

We stayed at the Crown and Thistle for a weekend in September 2020 and had such a lovely relaxing time. The staff were excellent, really attentive, especially our waitress who made us feel special. We ate in the restaurant each morning and evening and the food was so good we stayed on for Sunday lunch. The room was clean and well equipped and we especially enjoyed the four posted. A really relaxed and lovely weekend, which was well needed. All in all I d definitely recommend a stay at the Inn and might venture back there soon!
