2 Night Break

Rosaleen, East Sussex, stayed: October 2023

Made very welcome on arrival. Dubbed in the restaurant. Fabulous food.
Room could do with an update. Mattress needs to be replaced in Room 2. Very bad back second morning. Second day breakfast was a let down. We had to ask for toast and tea. Tea never arrived.
Overall a very nice stay.

Pettifers hotel

Anon, stayed: September 2023

Staff were friendly and helpful but seemed very stretched. Breakfasts were excellent (especially weekend menu). Evening menu was nicely cooked, but rather limited, especially for my GF wife. Food prices were slightly above average (we had a superb meal at another pub in the village for less). Room was ok with a large comfortable bed, but the bathroom was a little shabby and the shower was just about adequate. Location was very handy for Malmesbury and Cirencester with many interesting places to visit nearby.

Not quite as expected but good nonetheless!

Bryan H, Hertfordshire, stayed: August 2023

Really pleasant and helpful staff welcome you to this small hotel. The lobby, bar and restaurant area have clearly been updated in the not too distant past and are all comfortable and relaxing.

The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean and the bed offers a great night's sleep. Our bathroom was in need of updating although having said that everything worked really well and as with the bedroom, it was gleaming clean.

I felt that the drinks in the bar were a tad expensive, the evening meals were mid range price wise however be prepared for a wait as the meals are cooked fresh, which for me was no bad thing. My Chicken Masala was a bit watery...... The breakfast was very good and tasty, not to be missed.

There was a lack of communication between Cotswold Hotel Breaks (CHB) and Pettifers on one particular point which was a little annoying and whose fault lay with CHB, but it didn't really distract from a pleasant stay.

Helpful staff

PT, Devon, stayed: June 2023

Our first room had an entrance door and a bath that were very low. I am 6 feet 2 and this was not suitable. We mentioned it to reception and we had our room changed immediately. The breakfast was very good and evening meals were OK. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is well situated in the Cotswolds and the main attractions are not far. We felt the hotel was good value for money.
