Wonderful venue

Barbara, Devon, stayed: November 2018

A beautiful retreat in a great location. Wonderful gardens and spa. We stayed in the Orchard House so just has to pop downstairs to the spa which was very convenient. We loved the outside hot tub and being November meant you had a chilly evening which seemed to make getting into the hot water more special.
We dined in the Brasserie which had a relaxed feel. The staff were very helpful and on our second night we asked if we could have coffee in the main house so our waitress rang through to reserve us seats. When we got there the staff knew all about it and gave us a choice of three places.

Wonderful spa break

Anon, stayed: November 2018

Highly recommend this hotel for delicious food in both the brasserie and the main restaurant though be warned if you are staying in the new spa building you do need to walk outside to them and are at the vagaries of the weather. Service was excellent without being obsequious.
The rooms were luxurious but it would have been good to have proper milk in the fridge for the tea/coffee rather than those silly cheap miniscule cartons.
The ladies in the spa were welcoming, friendly and very good at their treatments.
The gardens even in November were a pleasure to walk in.
I hope to return and enjoy the pleasure of staying again as many customers obviously do.

5 star luxury

Anon, stayed: March 2017

A beautiful old hotel. Stayed two nights had dinner in restaurant one night which was a lovely experience, great food and attentive staff. The fruit and water etc in the room was a nice gesture adding to the all round comfort you would expect from a hotel of this quality.

A quality short midweek spa break with an excellent fine dinning restaurant.

Edward L, Surrey, stayed: January 2019

Having reviewed about 20 Spa Hotels online we finally settled on Mallory Court, it made the short list due to the Spa facilities and frankly the offer was too good to turn down with a discount available both on the Spa itself and the Brasserie restaurant.
We were warmly and quickly greeted in the main foyer and shown over to our room which was located above the Spa itself which was very handy. As you would expect the building was warm with all of the facilities located in it and that would be my only slightly negative comment, it was almost too warm in the room. However, the room was very well appointed, perfectly cleaned and a welcome note was a nice touch.
The bathroom was ideal, underfloor heating (i think, it could have just been the overall temperature) and general finish was of the highest standard. Great soaps and shampoos and very comfortable robes and slippers.
The bed was nice and firm and the quality of the linen on the bed was also high, good pillows and cushions all made for very good nights sleep.
The Spa had a good range of treatments, we both took advantage of the discounts and spent an entire day in the Spa itself. Both our treatments were conducted by very knowledgeable and polite staff who clearly know what they are doing and were confident in their jobs, overall a very good experience.
All this is good but what really makes the experience was the Fine Dinning experience. It was exceptional. A quick note before i go on is that the Brasserie is good and very enjoyable, it is after all a more relaxed and informal dining experience so its not fair to compare the two but the main event MUST be the fine dinning. As a couple we eat our a lot and probably monthly in Micheline Star establishments. This is on a par, it might even have been a little better than a 1 star experience. The food was almost faultless, we technically have 5 courses if you include the amuse bouche which was a smoked haddock and potato volute topped with puffed rice. My finance had the crab starter which was light and full of flavour, my quail was very well balanced and the consomm was crystal clear, (a note the floor staff - it is not a sauce, its a soup, i think it should certainly be left at the table and you need a spoon to eat it with, thankfully although i didn't have a spoon the delicious home made bread made for an excellent way to finish it up)
The Brill main course was perfectly cooked, as was my Hoggit. Great flavour combinations and variation of textures on both plates made both mains a delight and the seasoning was totally on point.
A dark chocolate torte and a compressed apple desert finished off the meal very nicely until we were talked into taking a cheese board. A single board between two was plenty after the previous courses. If the standard of food is maintained it seems like a certainty that the restaurant should be awarded its star which in our humble opinion it most certainly warrants! Really excellent, thank you.
Finally, some constructive feedback (we hope). It is a little rich for the fine dinning bar to be charging double the price for its spirits. 35ml of gin at 9 is more than you would pay in London but its a little insulting when you go to the Brasserie and a 50ml measure (of the same brand gin) is 6. As near as makes no difference you are charging double from one establishment to the other and they are under 80 yards away from each other, but that is a minor comment against what was a great short break. We will look forward to trying some of the other Eden brands offerings to see if they can maintain the standard across the group, but as far as Mallory Court is concerned, it is well worth a visit and the restaurant is must go scenario, even if you are not taking a room for the night!
