The negatives where the drinks where very expensive, and you could only use the Spa for free if you booked a treatment, otherwise it was 15.00 per hour.
The positives where the food and service which was of a higher standard then Michelin star restaurants which we had recently visited. The Spa was also very impressive.

Just can't give it 5 stars (out of 5).

The hotel was lovely. The hotel staff was great but the kitchen staff could use a little more training and attention to details. I had to ask for things more than once and sometimes I just gave up. But more importantly, the food was way below par for a place of this caliber. It was like eating off from a poolside menu with very basic far even for dinner. The price for the package included the basic fare but when you really wanted what I felt was 'standard' for this class of hotel the prices were outrageous.

Nice hotel with good staff and excellent food but some areas need improvement

KM, Surrey, stayed: July 2021

The hotel was lovely and the room comfortable and quiet ,well thought out but a bit stuffy at night.
We got a friendly welcome but they forgot to give us the glass of bubbly on arrival which was included in the deal . It made me feel really awkward to have to point it out.
The evening tasting menu was amazing, well balanced with a good use of seasonal food and flavours
The spa was lovely, had a lovely massage in a nice setting . The pool was nice too but had to pay 15 for a slot when you are paying over 300 for a room..
the big disappointment was the breakfast. Very basic choice ,not generous portions, juice that had gone off and having to ask 3 times for toast ! Could have had some interesting breads and better choice of pastries etc..
not good enough for a Relais & Chateaux

Anniversary Break

Keith, West Midlands, stayed: August 2020

Stayed here for one night to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming, approachable and friendly. We were treated to complimentary anniversary drinks and an icing decorated plate with our after dinner chocolates. The evening food was excellent. The breakfast menu was good but it was not made clear that continental options were available to order alongside cooked items. We asked and got everything we required. The bedroom and shared areas were all clean and well maintained. Just two little niggles: we had a long wait for drinks on the terrace when we arrived and it was almost impossible to attract attention when our toast did not arrive at breakfast.

A lovely short break and dog came too!

Rachel W, Staffordshire, stayed: February 2020

Often dog-friendly rooms are nothing special but our room was beautiful with patio doors onto the garden. Our bathroom was luxurious too. Our dinner (5 course tasting menu) was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive and friendly. Breakfast was great too with an excellent choice. We enjoyed the gardens. The hotel is on a busy road so exploring the area with the dog was less pleasurable. All in all a pleasant short break!
