A lovely stay with very friendly staff
booked Ellenborough Park for my husband's special birthday and we weren't disappointed on arrival. The approach is very impressive and the building beautiful with such character. The welcome was very friendly and all the staff members were only too happy to chat and impart very useful information or just pass the time. I have to say it was a little disappointing to find the restaurant closed for dinner as I had a nice frock to wear but we ended up sitting in the atrium which was a little chilly and didn't feel particularly special but the chateaubriand was excellent. To be honest I am not really sure why the restaurant was closed since the horse box was much smaller and so people appeared quite closely seated, whereas they could have been much more spaced out in the restaurant. The only other thing to mention was the real fire in the lounge, whilst it was lovely to see an open fire in such wonderful surroundings, I think the chimney may have needed sweeping as the smoke was quite choking at times. All this having said, we had a thoroughly lovely time and wouldn't hesitate to stay again (perhaps in the summer months when we could enjoy the outdoor spaces!)

Special Birthday Celebration
My wife & I stayed for 2 nights to celebrate her 70th birthday and we were not disappointed. The whole package was perfect, accommodation, service and meals in bistro & restaurant were excellent. We did however have to remind them to send up our welcoming glass of champagne to our room but this was a minor niggle. She enjoyed her facial in the spa and the late check out was much appreciated.
Lovely Weekend Break
My Partner and I stayed here the weekend prior to Christmas and had a lovely relaxing time. Very helpfull staff, great food and the room was lovely. Recommended.
Relaxing luxurious break
Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a classic room which was very large and comfortable. The car transfers to Cheltenham racecourse were very much appreciated. The food was delicious in the Horse box restaurant & service very good. Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting.
Fantasic hotel
Fantasic hotel. Really deserves the five stars. Great service
Perfect for a Night Away
As a brief escape from the kids, the hotel was perfect - we arrived early on Sunday and were able to enjoy the newspapers and a coffee in peace; we then used the spa, great treatments and given its small size much more personal than most; all the staff and service we received was of a good quality and delivered with a smile; the food was of a good quality throughout (both the bar and the main restaurants); we had certain other requests that were all dealt with swiftly and without fuss
Pure Bliss
I stayed at the Ellenborough with a friend so we could relax and recoup. Having stayed in some pretty amazing hotels in my time and this is up there, did not disappoint in any way. The staff were so helpful, polite and professional, very attentive. The hotel itself is just stunning, pure style, old meets new. The decor does the age of the property justice. The library, have a look, it's quite something. I think the house itself which dates back to 1487, don't quote me, that's a Wikepedia fact. I had two treatments in the spa, a massage with Anna, one of the best I've ever had. Dinner was exceptional. My friend and I wanted to meet the chef to say thanks, he was a little shy that night. If I was being super picky, two areas they might pay more attention to; the non existant range of grown up alcohol free drinks and the pillows were a little hard. But you know what? This is being really picky.
