3 night break

CD, Norfolk, stayed: August 2020

We had a lovely large room and food was good and staff very helpful. Regarding COVID practice this hotel does need to do a lot more to make it safe, didn t always feel comfortable regarding this. We did complain about a few things we noticed regarding COVID practice, the main problem was the amount of people doing the eat out Wednesday and that we needed to walk through them to get to the restaurant. This has now finished. We felt some tables were too close and the restaurant was way to warm and humid to be safe. When we told them about this they moved us to a table we felt more comfortable with for the rest of our stay and made sure the small windows above the door were open.

I am so sorry you had a problem with the amount of people sitting outside and in the drawing rooms on the eat out scheme, We found it difficult ourselves, and they were difficult to distance too. Had we known, we would not have joined the scheme, but we felt that Richie Sunak had done so much for hospitality that we should say thank you by being a part
of the scheme. We do have all our tables distanced at two meters, and most of our guests are comfortable with this. We are taking a great many precautions, and I am really sorry to hear that you were not quite happy, and I agree about the
warmth in the restaurant, but guests keep closing windows and doors, which makes it tricky! However, we are getting better with practise!!

Complete relaxation

Christopher, Berkshire, stayed: August 2020

From the warm and friendly welcome, to the delights of the restaurant and the peaceful tranquillity of a spacious room, the Corse Lawn House provided an ideal environment to relax and (as much as is possible) forget about the Covid environment we all find ourselves in. Yes there is social distancing, hand sanitising, staff in masks etc etc, but it does seem overly intrusive or strange. There is sufficent space to allow the guests to feel at home and comfortable without always worrying about being too close to others. A special mention to the Kitchen who - at a time when so many Hotels and Restaurants have minimised menus choices - still provide extensive choices and beautifully cooked and presented dishes. We had a really pleasant and enjoyable stay, so thank you to all involved with the Hotel.

Two night stay at Corse Lawn

Tony P, Essex, stayed: January 2022

Good sized and comfortable room with some very nice touches such as homemade biscuits and fresh fruit. Pleasant longe and two very good restaurants. Dinner was excellent and there were good vegetarian options. Breakfast was also of a very high quality. All the staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and welcoming. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

A bit of a

Eirlys, stayed: June 2022

On our arrival we noticed that the carpet in our bedroom (Long don) was thickly covered in dog hair.!! On the second and third day we had no hot water and had to boil a kettle in order to have a wash. We reported this to Aidan at the reception desk and he just shrugged his shoulders (no apology). Another very irate gentleman was at the desk with the same complaint.. The hotel needs a good revamp and TLC. it,s a shame because the setting is idyllic.

Corse Lawn House Hotel says...

I am really sorry about the dog hairs, there is no excuse for that. Very poor.

The hot water problem which was devastating, was that our Flogas Gas tanks got so hot in that very hot spell, 16th and 17th of June, that the gas was automatically cut off, and so nothing to heat the water, and Flogas Emergency not coming for 72 hours, and finding a plumber allowed to handle massive gas tanks not easy. I got one who came and put it back on at 8pm and water hot at 9pm, however in one wing of the hotel, which included Longdon and six other rooms, the problem caused an air lock, and I did not know until the following morning, because we could not get into the rooms, and once again it took until the evening to get a plumber being a Saturday! My guests, bar one, were all charming about it, and we reimbursed everyone.

I agree that the hotel needs some money spent on it. But alas, after the pandemic I have no money left, and need to
earn it before I spend it.

A three night stay

Anon, stayed: February 2023

A very enjoyable stay. My reason for selecting this hotel was it's location, being close to the Malvern Hills and the Wye Valley.which I did explore. The things that stood out for the horel were the quality of the food, the service and the very friendly and helpful atmosphere. I had a very pleasant first floor room overlooking the large duck pond with a nice view of the local countryside.
The only aspects that could be improved a little would be the additoion of a support rail/handle by the shower ( which was fitted above the bath) and an improved light above the sink.
