A 2 day break

CH, Northamptonshire, stayed: June 2025

The bathroom and bedroom were a very good size . The furnishing dated but it was very clean.
In the room there was fresh fruit, coffee and tea making facilities and a biscuit jar with homemade shortcake biscuits. We enjoyed our stay , the breakfast choice was excellent and the evening menu wasn t huge but had a good variety of, well presented and delicious dishes .

Lovely one night stay

CH, Buckinghamshire, stayed: May 2025

We were given our night away as a present , on arrival we were warmly greeted and shown to our room. Our dog was fussed and everything explained to us.
The room was spacious and clean, it had a few little areas that could do with a bit of maintenance but in general very comfy.
We took a walk round the fields and then had a drink by the pond. All very nice.
Dinner was in the bistro as we had our dog but the staff were friendly and knew about GF options which was brilliant. Food was amazing! Again a few areas could do with some upkeep but a lovely meal.
Breakfast in the morning was again lovely, although we had to stick our head into the kitchen to get a member of staff to serve us as again we were in the bistro. Once they came out they were friendly and the service was quick and food great.
All in all a lovely visit and we would definitely come and stay again.

re-visiting area

Peter T, Hampshire, stayed: September 2024

Saw brief mention in Telegraph holiday section so just had to visit as we lived very close by 40+ years ago. Hotel was everything we expected and wanted and was lovely. Faintly old fashioned which suited us perfectly but food and staff were excellent.

A Get away from it all Retreat

WR, Buckinghamshire, stayed: August 2024

Such a pleasure to stay in this lovely hotel -
The ambience was friendly & relaxed& the staff too
We enjoyed our meals & appreciated the little touches - home made jams & biscuits ( in our room too- together with fresh milk,a percolator & real tea!)
I enjoyed having the swimming pool to myself & although it could do with a facelift the water was crystal clear & a good temperature
Would recommend

Mixed review

JB, West Midlands, stayed: July 2024

Receptionist (Sally) and welcome was excellent. Large room overlooking the pond, clean but dated. No coffee in the pot, and cafeti re still had dregs in from last guest. The receptionist dealt with this quickly and a huge apology.
Our main frustration was that the dinner menu was 39.50 for 3 courses. This looked reasonable until we realised only 3 starters ( 2 soups, and a tomato/ mozzarella salad) and 2 main courses ( trout and Guinea fowl?) neither of which we liked. So we had to pay supplements on our main courses. This was very disappointing, and although the food was nice we felt cheated as few options without supplemental charges. Some would say hotel is dated, doilies under everything, sticky dining tables, old silver cutlery and maybe that s charming. But it does need some tlc and gentle modernisation. And a more cheerful barman with better beer!
Very expensive for what we had.

Corse Lawn House Hotel says...

No coffee was poor, and I am glad Sally deal with it well. I agree about the menu, and we have already changed the
pricing, and we are giving an 'allowance of £40 for the a la carte menu, and of course they can also choose off the
special offer menu.. The hotel is traditional, and is also in need of a Refurbish, but I am afraid that money is rather short
as a result of the pandemic and the huge cost of living and hike in wages, which has made things much more difficult. The
Barman was on his last day!!
I am really sorry you did not enjoy your visit, and indeed we will try to do better. I do think it sounds as if you were a bit
unlucky, but even so, I think we should be able to produce a better experience.

Location very nice but Hotel needs a refurb.

Anon, stayed: February 2024

Overall impression of the hotel is that it has seen better days. The rooms that we used could all do with a refurb. As for the Dining experience we could not fault the food which we found excellent, however our table was "sticky". Had difficulty in lifting plates and other items because they were stuck to the table. Perhaps another indicator of the a refurb being necessary. Bedroom and the bed was spacious and a very nice aspect overlooking gardens and ponds. But furnishings and bathroom were tired looking and needed an update.
