CT, Carmarthenshire, stayed: September 2025

Recently had a 2 night stay at Bowden Hall , the staff were very friendly and welcoming but the hotel is in desperate need of some TLC. Our room was quite shabby and very dark, quite disappointed really was hoping for a brighter standard room which was advertised on the website. On a positive our breakfast was excellent and plenty of choice and very friendly staff. I was celebrating my birthday and with our evening meal the waiter brought me a little dessert with Happy birthday written on the plate which was a lovely gesture and surprise so thank you so much.

A few days in a wonderful hotel

Anon, stayed: August 2025

recently stayed for 3 nights in the lovely Bowden hall, i found the hotel to be located in a stunning part of the country surrounded by beautiful countryside,i was welcomed by some very friendly and helpful staff ,my room was a standard double with lovely views of the grounds and surrounding countryside, within my room the fixtures were of a reasonable standard and a nicely laid out bathroom, the only negative would be the Tv was a bit out dated ,within the hotel there were some nice fixtures and fittings and a comfortable seating area in the lounge, the bar had a decent selection of drinks ,the restaurant was very nicely organised and served some very nice food both at dinner and an extremely good selection at breakfast all served by very obliging staff ,all in all a very pleasant stay.

Gloucester stop over

Ian, Nottinghamshire, stayed: August 2025

We stayed for 3 nights mid- week
And found the Hotel very relaxing
And convenient for visits to the Quays and Cathedral
The grounds around the hotel were great and beautiful sunsets to watch chilling with a glassof wine.
The Hotel staff was very accommodating and nothing to much trouble for them.

Restaurant is excellent

Anon, stayed: July 2025

The restaurant is good and food is excellent. Room is a small step up from a travel lodge. No air conditioning, window only opened 10cm. The fan was ineffective. There is no lift thus lots of stairs to the room. The view was okay from the room with the window frame in bad state. No plugs near the bed.

2 Night Break to visit Cheltenham.

Stuart, Wiltshire, stayed: July 2025

Took advantage of the 2 night romantic break offered and we were not disappointed. The whole stay from arrival to departure was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you for the included dinner and Prosecco it was really appreciated.
Please also pass on our thanks to your restaurant staff as they were most helpful and attentive.

Lovely break

Nick, Staffordshire, stayed: June 2025

We enjoyed a short break which was excellent value. With nice touches that included complimentary champagne on arrival and an afternoon tea. The hotel provided a good base for exploring the area and the air conditioned room was a real bonus in a heatwave! The food was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful.
PS Check out the short walk up Nut hill from the rear of the hotel - don t be put off by having to squeeze past the bins to get to it!
