Lovely for a weekend break

Overall our stay was lovely, and the package deal we had was definitely worth the money. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
However, the room we were given a little disappointing. I had originally asked for a freestanding shower, but was advised that the only room available was on the first floor, and had a bath with a shower over, which I accepted. On arrival I was advised that an accessable room was available, with a walk in shower. Unfortunately, the shower room was tiny, and had the smallest sink, with no surround for toothbrushes etc., which had to be kept on a small shelf above the toilet (not very hygienic). I'm not sure how someone in a wheelchair would have managed. We were offered 2 other rooms, but one was on the 3rd floor, with no lift, and was very hot and stuffy. The other one was on the ground floor at the far end of the hotel, was again very hot and stuffy and had no air conditioning.
We kept the room we were offered, which was at the back of the hotel, overlooking a bank of weeds, and dead plants, and we were disturbed all night by the air conditioning units outside the window, and another large which was on all night.
The windows were filthy, and covered in cobwebs, and the pipes under the sink in the shower room were covered in thick dust. There was also staining on the flooring in the corner of the shower room, where it looked like the shower cubicle had leaked.
I used the hotel WiFi, and my Facebook account was hacked. I mentioned it to the man on reception, and he offered me the secure WiFi, but seemed very unconcerned. Surely the secure WiFi should always be offered I also.mentioned it to another person on reception, but again, there was no concern
Having said all that, the public areas and grounds of the hotel are beautiful, food was lovely, and the staff were very friendly. I would definitely go back, but would ask for a room at the front, on the 1st floor, and would not use the unsecured WiFi.

Lovely break in the Cotswolds

Lovely hotel with comfortable rooms and very friendly and helpful staff who clearly care about customer experience.
Lovely situation close to some magnificent countryside and lovely walks.
Perfect for a short break.

Relaxing stay in Bowden Hall

This was our second visit to Bowden Hall - a great architecture outside and inside.
We do like the location, close to Gloucester and historic places near by.
The package we have from the 'offpeakluxury' was excellent.
We can recommend this hotel.
