Lovely couple of days
A lovely looking hotel which needs a little tlc outside. The website showed dining pods in the garden but these were falling apart and covered in green slime which was a shame and spoilt the view of the garden. Other than there being no lift these were my only bad comments. Everywhere was clean and there were some very strange art installations inside. The bed was comfy and cleaned every day. The lounge had very comfy sofas in. The restaurant had a varied menu and was well cooked and very tasty. Breakfast depending on occupancy was either cooked to order or self service. All the staff were polite and friendly.

Pleasant experience, food a bit mediocre for my taste.
Enjoyable stay
The Bowden Hall is in the countryside and can be a little tricky to find! The entrance is quite impressive and it looks a great place for a wedding. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. The room was a bit of a distance from reception and had to go through hallways which were being decorated. The room was good. The dinner menu was interesting and varied and the service was good. And the wine list was good. The biggest disappointment was the dessert - a cheesecake which didn t taste of anything!
Relaxing break!
Beautiful building modern furnishings
Relaxing vibe. Some friendly staff
Housekeeping not efficient room not cleaned early enough. Sheet and towels not replaced. Had to ask two days!
Weekend break
Super value for money stay
We stayed for two nights over a weekend. The hotel is in a lovely location with excellent walks around. The room was big, clean and warm. The restaurant was lovely and the staff were very helpful and friendly. It was amazing value for money and we would stay here again.
Basic
We booked a sparkle break through off peak luxury.
The room was basic and quite tired looking. Bathroom decor was very tired. We were only staying a night to break our journey so was OK.
Perhaps our biggest disappointment was the restaurant. Felt customer service was quite sloppy. They weren t exactly rushed off their feet! We ordered drinks with our evening meal and had to remind staff twice. We think they d been sat on the bar for over 20 minutes. We were eating our main course by the time we eventually got them. As we d booked a break with a late checkout at 12 noon we thought we have a lazy morning and go down for breakfast about 10ish. On arriving at the hotel we were told the latest we could have breakfast was 9 am! A wedding party had booked their breakfast at 9.30 am and basically took over the restaurant. Breakfast food was basic. When we went at 9am the jars containing the ingredients to make your own granola etc were all nearly empty. It was just as if staff didn t really care and lacked professionalism.Coffee was from a machine which you collected yourself. Not the same as having filter coffee at your table.
