Weekend away with friends

6 of us spent a great evening here enjoying excellent food and company. The staff were amazing from the welcoming smiles at check-in to the amazing variety of dishes on the menu. At breakfast the staff were helpful and attentive making an amazing vegan breakfast for one of the members of our party. Everything was perfect for our annual reunion. Thank you!

2nd visit but disappointed

Disappointed this visit. On arrival the rooms were not ready, was about 4pm when we were told they are ready. In the room there was only 1bedside cabinet plenty of room for another. No spoon with the refreshment tray, only 1pack of biscuits. The next morning we were taken to a table for our breakfast which hadn t been cleaned so they moved us to another which also hadn t been cleaned so moved us to a table in another room which had just been made up. Positive comments. Lovely building and gardens,staff very friendly and helpful,food was excellent. We took some friends with us who were celebrating a 81st birthday they enjoyed the stay I m pleased to say.

Rooms very tired. Bathroom could do with a deep clean. Staff excellent.

Excellent stay

We had an excellent time. The three days were perfect. The welcome, the room, the staff and the food was all perfect. Enjoyed every minute of it.

Superbly Located Welcoming Historic Hotel at Foot of Box Hill

Superbly located wonderfully welcoming hotel set in extensive grounds with great views at the foot of Box Hill which makes for a stunning walk and vantage point across the rolling landscape.
The rooms are very comfortable light and large making a relaxing stay. The restaurant menu has some excellent choices offering top value in attentive surroundings with a extensive choice of wines. Breakfast offered some nice specials along with freshly prepared options to ensure an excellent start to the day. What more could you want as an historic base in the Cotswolds!

Anniversary trip

Nice location, staff were friendly. Our toilet did not work properly the 1st night then broke altogether , Room manager was told but she said they could not get a plumber on a weekend!. So we later went to reception and the lady swiftly moved us to a new room which was very nice.
The restaurant was nice but the food was an eclectic mix , so it was hit and miss if you got a good meal . The second night the pasta dish was excellent, the curry on the 1st night was not good .
Overall is was a friendly place, good location and was good value for money .
