Short Break

This short break was booked at the last minute and it didn t disappoint. We had been to this hotel before and we chose it primarily for its close proximity to Gloucester. Considering the current climate with regard to the pandemic the staff and hotel management made us feel very safe.

A lovely break away

We stayed here for 2 nights as out Honeymoon to Turkey got cancelled due to COVID.
It was a lovely little break away in a really relaxing location and setting. The barman Alberto (Albie) made our second night extra special, as on the previous evening the barman had been rude and condescending. Albie is a credit to the hotel staff, we would visit again just to see him!
Food in the restaurant was tasty, as was breakfast. The whole hotel is dealing with the current restrictions very well and we felt safe during our stay. Would recommend this hotel to couples rather than families

The staff could not have been more helpful, the food was first class, the room was very pleasant and warm. The website indicated the hotel had been renovated but it last was done several years ago and this was rather misleading

Bowden Hall

We received a warm welcome and could not fault the service or food which was excellent and well priced, and our room was lovely and warm and we received a 1/2 bottle of champagne in our room. All staff were very friendly and accommodating and a lovely afternoon tea. highly recommended

Ideal location for a weekend break

The hall is situated in rural Gloucestershire country side and is ideal for walking and exploring the immediate area being especially close to the famous cheese rolling hill! The hotel staff were very friendly and obliging. The hotel had a clear covid policy with corridors etc. set up in a one way system.
Everywhere was clean and sanitizer spread throughout the hotel. Unfortunately the restaurant and bar areas suffered due to the restrictions but the hotel did their best to overcome the situation and put on a welcoming approach.

Everything was perfect on our 2 night break, lovely hotel which has been made Covid safe as much as they can. Lovely restaurant and breakfast really enjoyed our stay

Excellent stay

The hotel was extremely well managed with all necessary restrictions in place. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable, we had the option of room cleaning but as only 2night stay declined to save them the work.
Dining room was delightful and the food excellent, on the first night we both had the most amazing steak. There was no breakfast buffet due to restrictions but full English was very good for my husband and I had eggs florentine. All in all a really good couple of days at a really good price.
