Winston Churchill Biography
Winston Churchill (1874-1965) was the eldest son of Lord Randolph Churchill (third son of the 7th Duke of Malborough). He was home secretary 1910-11, secretary of state for war 1918-21, chancellor of the exchequer 1924-9 and prime minister 1940-5 and 1951-5.
Winston Churchill and the Cotswolds
Born and brought up at Blenheim Palace near Woodstock, Winston Churchill has links with the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. He is buried at Bladon, a small village a few miles from Blenheim Palace.
