About the Cotswolds
The Cotswolds is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled regions in England, with high, wooded hills and sweeping valleys dotted with charming, timeless villages of honey-coloured stone cottages.
Tetbury
Tetbury is located in the southern Cotswolds just a few miles from Prince Charles’ home at Highgrove.
Antique shops line the main street in charming 17th and 18th century townhouses. The Market House in the centre of town dates back to 1655 and is built on stone pillars under which the sale of wool took place.
Tetbury has a wonderful Georgian Gothic church that was built in 1781.
Nearby Westonbirt Arboretum has a rare collection of trees, shrubs and extensive woodland walks. Adjoining this is the traditional Cotswold stone building that is now The Hare & Hounds Hotel. Set in its own beautiful gardens, this hotel is an exquisite setting for a Cotswold country house hotel break.
