Very pleasant short stay
Bibury is a very pleasant place to stay and the Swan has much to recommend it.
We found the staff throughout the hotel - housekeeping, restaurant, bar, reception - to be most helpful and polite, nothing was too much. The food served in the restaurant was of a high standard, which is just as well because it was quite pricey, as were drinks from the bar - we have recently returned from a holiday in Crete where we stayed in an hotel of similar standard and it was quite a contrast!
My main gripe is that I found the bed uncomfortable, mattress and pillows too firm for a "side sleeper", disappointing after seeing, during the booking process, reference to "feather beds" or something similar. Another point, unimportant at this time of year with early onset of dusk, is the view from the window of our rather expensive room was very disappointing. I think the room's location at the rear of the hotel should be made clear during the room selection procedure.
Overall though we were satisfied with our stay.
Relaxing retreat
The location could not be better.
The restaurant staff could not have been more helpful whether the query was related to the menu or suggestions of places to visit. We found the menu overly fussy and only ate in on one of our three nights due to lack of food choices. The sandwich menu was also disappointing at lunch time.
The room was spacious, with a very large and comfortable bed. The bathroom was also a good size but could have benefitted from more shelving space.
Overall, the stay was just the tonic we needed.
Great weekend break
Lovely old place in beautiful location, good food and service, rooms could do with updating slightly
Comfortable, relaxing and scenic for short stay getaway.
Hotel very comfortable with helpful, friendly staff. Bedroom excellent with view overlooking river. Booking included excellent breakfast. Tempted to have brought our cockapoo since hotel caters for dogs and their owners but reasonably enough dogs are not allowed in the main restaurant area.
We arrived on a Sunday in late May at the start of schools half term. Bibury is obviously on the itinerary of visitors from around the world, or so it seemed, and was extremely busy, as were other places of interest along the A429 Fosse Way.
We certainly enjoyed our stay but would mention the potential difficulty in finding a parking place.
On all 3 nights we had dinner at the Swan and would have welcomed one or two changes to the choices available during that period or more extensive menu considering the cost of meals.

As always a great break
We have stayed at the Swan a number of times over the years and always enjoyed it. This time we had had to rearrange because I went down with Covid-19 and Off peak.com and the hotel were brilliant at allowing us to rearrange the date.
The food in the restaurant had undergone a considerable upgrade and was excellent for me but one slight niggle, my wife has a nut allergy and although everyone was helpful and the QR code a really good idea she was still very limited in options. A couple of simple alternatives like macaroni cheese or chilli would have made all the difference to her. This is a common problem these days where vegan options ( you no longer get vegetarian options) all contain nuts or are made with nut milk. Ok rant over it was a enjoyable stay. Thank you
