We enjoyed our stay at the Swan. Our first visit to this area of the Cotswolds. The hotel has an excellent location. The room was at the top of the hotel and it was quite small and dark. Although generally well appointed. It lacked shelf space for toiletries in the bathroom. When using the mirror, over the sink items slid into the sink. The mirror in the bedroom lacked light.
We felt the bar area was given to dog owners. As they had to eat in the bar area it meant tables were always reserved and therefore unavailable for the occasional drinker.
Also we thought lounge areas too small.
We found all the staff very helpful and professional

Picturesque village and a good base for exploring parts of the Cotswolds
The Swan hotel is in a good location as a base for exploring parts of the Cotswolds. The village was unexpectedly busy with tourists because of the history relating to the road bridge over the river Coln and the trout farm. Fortunately the hotel has private parking areas for a limited number of vehicles.
The Swan hotel was comfortable and well maintained but some of the drinks were considered to be pricey. The food choices were good.
The man on reception in the waistcoat was very helpful and friendly. All hotel staff were cheerful and efficient.
Satisfactory visit
A welcome change to the hubbub of town living.
Very nice but no cigar!
The hotel is very nice, immaculately clean throughout and looks newly decorated. A bit irritating to be asked on check in, in our case after a tiring 3 hour drive, where and what time we want every meal during our stay. The wait for the food in the dining room is excessive, over half an hour, and the portion sizes are meagre. When we raised the waiting point we were told all food is cooked to order so takes some time. With a dining room only a quarter full this simply won't wash. Also, the menu is the same every night. We only stayed 2 nights so it wasn't really a problem but a 4 night stay would be a different case. The full English breakfast was rather overcooked and unremarkable. How do you cook scrambled eggs to be completely tasteless and the consistency of sawdust? Having said all this, we enjoyed our stay and would come again. The food side of things wants looking at.
A lovely short break in a lovely hotel in a lovely location.
Courteous and very helpful staff in a delightful hotel made our stay memorable. We shall recommend it without hesitation.
