Ideal overnight stay if a little expensive
Good reception a pity the lift not working but very friendly, room nice but not very superior nor spacious by any means. Restaurant well staffed but mistake in kitchen over cooking the steak under done not as ordered, returned but no recompense offered as had to wait for another to be cooked while my wife dined alone!
Winter Break
Excellent in most respects and especially friendly staff except for somewhat grumpy barman.
Restaurant supervisors/staff very welcoming and added to enjoyment of stay.
Appreciated wine and chocolates in room and impressed with cleanliness of accommodation.
Very pleasant short stay
Bibury is a very pleasant place to stay and the Swan has much to recommend it.
We found the staff throughout the hotel - housekeeping, restaurant, bar, reception - to be most helpful and polite, nothing was too much. The food served in the restaurant was of a high standard, which is just as well because it was quite pricey, as were drinks from the bar - we have recently returned from a holiday in Crete where we stayed in an hotel of similar standard and it was quite a contrast!
My main gripe is that I found the bed uncomfortable, mattress and pillows too firm for a "side sleeper", disappointing after seeing, during the booking process, reference to "feather beds" or something similar. Another point, unimportant at this time of year with early onset of dusk, is the view from the window of our rather expensive room was very disappointing. I think the room's location at the rear of the hotel should be made clear during the room selection procedure.
Overall though we were satisfied with our stay.
Really lovely staff.
We had lots of lovely smiles when we arrived, and the receptionist was so helpful. I had upgraded our room to a four poster, but when I saw the size of bed, it was too small, as my husband was just getting over a cancer operation.and we needed a larger bed.. The staff were obliging, and found us a king size bed, although the room was not nearly as nice as the Swan room, we settled for a larger bed. .The restaurant was okay, but I think it was a Bistro place? I was thinking of nice white linen table clothes, but unfortunately, no! At a 4 star hotel, you usually have a smart dining room for guests. I have to say the food was good, but the breakfasts were to die for. Amazing, the best ever. My daughter had her honeymoon at this hotel, and comes back most years as they love it.
Every thing
We had a long weekend at the swan the room was first class the staff execellent food very good could not have wished for more.
