Birthday stay

Anon, stayed: January 2025

I had seen a review that a poor limited dinner menu was served. I wanted to book the stay for my husband's birthday so didn't want to risk a disappointing meal. I phoned the hotel and spoke to Harvey about this review and he confirmed that when the chef wasn't in there was indeed a limited menu but on the night we wished to book the chef was indeed in. The room booked was a superior room but it was not the one shown on your website which was a traditional large room with seating. The room we actually got was in the adjoining building but it was clean, spacious with a lovely bathroom, just not the oldy world experience we had hoped for. The dinner included in the package was excellent, beyond what we hoped for and we were offered a glass of wine as we hadn't had the cocktail on arrival which suited us. We chose the cooked breakfast the following morning which was again excellent. We would definitely use this website to book hotels again.

Lovely staff, clean room

Anon, stayed: February 2025

The room was clean and a reasonable size.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful.
The hotel itself felt very much like a wedding venue.
We had a reduced menu for dinner as the chef was off. The food was fine, but nothing to write home about. Breakfast was much the same.

Good value but not luxury

Anon, stayed: February 2025

Helpful reception staff who went to a lot of trouble to ensure I had a quiet room. Some parts of the hotel looked a bit shabby. Didn't like the fact that there were no members of staff at the premises overnight. An emergency number was given.

Moonraker stay March

RT, stayed: March 2025

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Moonraker hotel and found the staff both friendly and helpful. The superior room was a good size and had a sofa and coffee table area with a countryside view which was a bonus we hadn't expected. The restaurant dinner was delicious.
