Witney, OX28 6BH
Autumn break
Parking limitations make it a little awkward other than that everything was good value for money and we would visit and stay again
Nice overnight stay
We stayed for 1 night on the Thirsty Thursday deal. The staff didn't seem to know what it was which was a little embarrassing when we got into the restaurant but was soon sorted! We enjoyed our stay. The Blue Boar is in a very good spot in the middle of Witney. The parking could be a problem because although free parking available on the street and car parks it is only for 3 hours and it means keep moving the car!

Parking was a big issue and explaining where to go was happy hazard but once sorted it was OK. Everything else was excellent.
Nice place to stay for short break
We stayed at the Blue Boar for a very enjoyable long weekend. We ate in the restaurant 2 nights and enjoyed 2 breakfasts , food and service was very good despite it being busy, nice friendly atmosphere. Although the room was very nice and fairly quiet given we were in the centre of town, the temperature around the whole Hotel was extremely hot even in mid March? Also there is no on site parking, so you have to park away from the hotel and carry your luggage a fair distance, so pack lightly.
Great stay we loved it!
Although we only stayed for two nights but really enjoyed our visit, a lovely room great food and very helpful staff!
I was charged for an Executive room that certainly did't match that description.
My wife and I stayed for one night at the Blue Boar as part of the celebrations for her birthday. I booked and paid for what was described as an "Executive Double Room". The room that we were allocated (Room 5) was at the top of a steep and narrow staircase and posed somewhat of a health and safety risk to guests like us who are in their 70s. especially as there was no offer to help us with our luggage.
The room had supposedly been refurbished but that clearly hadn't included dealing with the cracked paint and mould on the lower half of the window or the sun-faded top of one of the bedside tablesThere was nothing about the room that deserved the title of Executive. It did have a 5 foot bed but otherwise it was only the size of a single room and the shower/bathroom was so small that you had to leave the door open while towelling oneself dry. The shower was certainly not a "power shower" as advertised.
In summary I felt that the quality of the room had been significantly overstated and in consequence that I had been "mugged" which was very disappointing.
A highly recommended hotel in a splendid location for visiting Oxford and the Cotswolds
A very comfortable hotel with superb food, lovely staff and a perfect location. Excellent value for money. My wife and will definitely stay here again to expand on our visit to the Cotswolds and there is also a bus from right outside the hotel which takes you to the centre of Oxford.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was ok apart from the headboard which was very uncomfortable
The main thing that could be improved is information regarding parking as no one seemed sure if where or for how ling
