Not great average at best
Dated hotel, poor general customer service. A feeling as though the staff didn t know how to treat guests
Building work and renovations also going on during our stay
Stanton Manor weekend away
Great Service and good food. The location is also nice and convenient. The Hotel is not bad, but it'd be so much better, if a bit of renovation is done, as it appears quite 'tired' . Rooms are clean and spacious, though. Thanks!
Lovely stay.
We checked in to our room 24 , it was very basic and very dark. View was a large hedge and unfortunately staff were passing constantly so no privacy. Curtains had to closed at all times . Owners need to address this promptly.
Staff were helpful to try and change room but were fully booked on the Saturday so was difficult.
We ate in the restaurant on both occasions, first night residents menu which was included on both nights.
We were told on second night that The a la carte menu we would pay the difference .
Scotch egg on the starter , steak / lamb on main course, dessert one difference from Redients menu.
Very confusing , I agree steak/ lamb charge a supplement.
Staff were friendly and pleasant.
Second night we had a couple who argued from 12.15 am to 1.50 am , slamming doors . As there is no night warden . We had to put up with this !!!
Overall we had a lovely stay and have booked again for our Anniversary in October.
In a superior room in upstairs .
Below average unfortunately!
This hotel has beautiful grounds and views, large and free car park. Our package included dinner bed and breakfast which we were looking forward to after a stressful few months. I m vegetarian and my partner does eat meat, on the dinner menu I only had 1 item to choose from which was poorly reheated and inedible. Breakfast was horrible, continental items not restocked and were all empty, I had veggie breakfast which was missing 3 items compared to the menu listed, the sausage I had was in fact raw and cold on the inside. This hotel could be a real slice of luxury if they go back to basics and start getting them right, rooms need updating as part of this. We left in a hurry after breakfast as we were hungry to go somewhere else for food!
Very good.
We really liked this hotel. It is small enough to have a nice friendly atmosphere but large enough to provide a quality experience.
On our arrival, we were given an upgrade to a superior room without asking and found it to be large and very clean in a quiet position overlooking the beautiful extensive gardens.
We had a meal included for one of the nights with our deal which was of a good quality.
The staff were friendly and very helpful.
We would definitely like to return to this hotel.
As with most hotels I would expect it to be busier if there was a wedding function in place however the marquee is situated well away from the main hotel.
I gave the rating poor for customer service because of long delays in the restuarant ( we were there for 2 hours). There was a large party and they were being served first. Still the manager was very nice and appologized for the wait.
Slightly disappointed stay
We were staying at Stanton Manor to celebrate my birthday but although the room was excellent the food was disappointing. We were offered the Sunday lunch menu in the evening, with a very limited choice of a few starters, four mains and three desserts. My husband's main meal the mushroom risotto was enjoyable but I chose the Pork which was rather dry and although the roast potatoes were freshly cooked the other vegetables seemed reheated. The gravy was very tasty. The choice of three desserts were very similar all jelly or fruit fool type. We chose a Mango and Passion fruit with meringue pieces with a lot of whipped cream. We also weren't impressed by being charged a service charge for bringing a bottle of wine to the table and taking the bottle top off, not even pouring it, why not just add the charge to the price of the wine. Overall we weren't impressed.
The room was superb but you could hear the person above moving about and we heard their alarm about 6.30am which must have had a snooze setting as it kept going for about half an hour. We assume it may have been a staff bedroom above us. When we went for breakfast after selecting some juice and granola I asked for Eggs Benedict and was told that only Full English was included in our package so chose that. The bacon was inedible as it wouldn't cut with a knife, the scrambled eggs looked greyish and the mushroom unappetizing. The sausages were okay but small amounts of baked beans and tomato. My husband said it was the worst English breakfast he's ever had.
