Old world charm in stunning grounds

Anon, stayed: June 2019

Beautiful grounds, friendly staff . Our room was large and airy and overlooking the gorgeous gardens, some furniture a bit tired and the carpet was stained in many places. Comfortable bed and crisp fresh linens.
We felt our food was ok, better the second night .....the first night we d ordered steamed asparagus with hollandaise sauce and poached this was cold and the next course was average too.....
Great location for Bicester village, Blenheim palace and oxford.

Good Hotel

Leslie R, Berkshire, stayed: April 2019

lovely setting and beautiful Hotel - but disappointed the restaurant was closed, We were give a low table in the bar - the service and food was very good but just very disappointed the restaurant with the 25th century panelling and romantic ambience was closed on a Sunday - I don't remember seeing this in the write ups.

More Western than Weston??

TB, Warwickshire, stayed: November 2018

As the Rating Chart shows, (3 Poor ) our experience (with friends Mr. & Mrs. Bearman) was not as "Luxurious" as the web site advised.

The disabled room &related facilities were OK The main problem was lighting in the bedroom, which was very poor,( only table lamps with low wattage bulbs -we were told no others were available !? ) ..

The Bearman"s had to change rooms as it was extremely; cold(no heating on).

The Menu was basic ( hardly "gourmet" )

Having stayed at other Hotels in the Cotswold Luxury Hotels Group , our overall experience was not to the same standard..

We are unlikely to Cotswold Luxury .H. G. again

If anyone is sufficiently concerned and interested to discuss My contact number is on the system

The Manor was just right for us.

NS, East Sussex, stayed: September 2018

We enjoyed our two night stay at the Manor, it was ideal for our visit to Blenhiem Palace and Oxford. The Manor itself, is an attractive tradional country house and the grounds are well kept and worth a walk around. Our 'superior' room was large, the bed comfortable and everthing worked, although some the white work could do with a lick of paint and one curtain needed rehanging, they were trivial things, the only real criticism was the lack of a minibar. The staff were helpful and friendly. We had dinner in the resturant one night and it was excellent. Breakfasts were ok but a bit slow when they were busy. The village of Weston-on-the-Green is also attractive and has two good pubs. We would recommend staying there.

Overnight stay

JJ, Gloucestershire, stayed: July 2018

Asked for a twin room ( sharing with my sister in law) but when we arrived it was a double bed. Was told twice that housekeeping were coming to convert to two singles but no one came, eventually gave up & went to bed. Pleasant room. The reception isn t permanently manned so had to wait on several occasions.

Brilliant Staff

FL, Kent, stayed: July 2018

We enjoyed 2 ( very hot ) days at The Manor. The welcome was good, room clean and airy and a fan was supplied for the heat! Only downside to the room was no remote for the TV and the hotel was unable to supply another - not really crucial but maybe more so in the winter.  The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. They seemed to work very hard and could maybe have done with a few more of them!

We chose this hotel for the outdoor swimming pool, but this was a bit of a disappointment. It was a fairly small pool and was available for use by the local villagers. To this end, on the afternoon we were there we were swamped by 7 children and their parents! The towels ran out on the second day and the pile of used ones was so enormous it must have been left from the day before. Used glasses and crockery was not collected and the small area looked very much less than 4*. Could also have done with a few deckchairs for the enormous grass area opposite the terrace. There were only two and one was missing a wheel which we replaced with a brick! Otherwise it was a lovely stay.

Shabby room

AD, Essex, stayed: December 2017

Room was nice but in need of attention especially the bathroom. Tiles were going mouldy and shower head covered in limescale. In the bedroom the paint was peeling off. Food was lovely in the restaurant but it took an hour to bring first course. Staff apologetic and helpful.
