Wonderful break

AM, Kent, stayed: May 2018

It was our 25th wedding Anniversary and the staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful - they couldn't have been nicer!
Wonderful food and an amazingly knowledgable bar man - he should write a book on the gins!

Woodstock in the Snow

Anon, stayed: March 2018

We booked for one night, 2 adults, a dog and a little one.  The day of our arrival we came via Bicester.......
very cold and in the afternoon the snow came down ...it was a winter wonderland.  The staff were extremely charming, one of the rooms we were given an upgrade ...but the hotel and our large suite was very cold. The weather was unusual but one has to be prepred for all eventualities. It needs large fires roaring downstairs and that was not so.

When I asked for an extra heater for the room the hotel did not have any, was this due to fire safety?  We were given an extra duvet which was much needed.  The food was good but there were no comfortable armchairs.  Gin Bar where we ate was good with its menu but not really cosy.  As mentioned staff were charming.

Overall the hotel was very good. However it didn't have a resident's lounge which was a disappointment. On a cold winter afternoon it would have been nice to relax in front of a warm fire.
We received a warm welcome on our arrival and the bar manager was very friendly and helpful.
The dinner menu in the restaurant had only 5 choices of main course, two of which were deer. This made choice quite restricting. I also did not appreciate paying a mandatory 12% service charge.

Perfect place for a special occasion

Carrie-anne H, Somerset, stayed: May 2015

We stayed at The Feathers to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and it was ideal. Gorgeous food, friendly staff and a very comfy bed. Our room was right at the top of the building which made it very warm (not sure I would have been comfortable during full summer weather) but the staff were very accommodating when we asked for lighter bedding. We especially enjoyed the champagne cream tea and gin bar!
