On entering the room, we noticed how very cold it was (there were 2 extra heaters in the room).
Then we noticed the wallpaper was peeling off in several places. There was damp marks on the walls,
On leaving the room, my husbands jacket brushed against the wall and his Jacket was covered in white dust from the wall - it was extremely damp in there.
There was no breakfast menu, there was the usual self service, if you wanted a cooked breakfast
the waitress would tell you what was available i.e. no mushrooms .
The beds were very comfortable, we did let the Hotel Management know of our disappointment.

The hotel was tired in places & the restaurant & bar lacked atmosphere. Our room was clean & well serviced. Location was good as buses stopped outside for Warwick and Stratford.
Nice quite night away
Not the first time I ve stayed here & wont be the last always great value for money, food delicious & great night sleep.
More a suite than a room!
Great location with a spacious character room.
We were able to take our dog and enjoyed walking in Charlecote Estate over the road.
Needs more staff
The Charlecote Pheasant is a lovey hotel but needs some TLC. It is very understaffed in every area the people on reception were having to help out with replenishing the breakfast buffet. The waiting staff were trying to serve in the restaurant and at a private party in one of the function rooms. The rooms are very tired and need updating which is a shame as it is in a beautiful location. The hard working staff are very helpful and friendly and you feel sorry for them as they are trying so hard.
Weekend getaway
Ok, good points . Most of the staff were very nice however one waitress was very sullen and quite rude.
It was clean and tidy.
Our bed was comfy and the room was a great size.
Bad points. The hotel is undergoing redecoration but we weren t told this on arrival.
The food wasn t great, one of our party couldn t eat her steak the waitress mentioned above didn t really want to listen to what was wrong with it and just picked up the plate and walked off whilst we were speaking to her! We asked for the supplemental price to be taken off bill and it was. On the Monday when we arrived for breakfast at 9.30 there was no hot buffet option left and it had been cleared away!
The smoking area is situated by the entrance doors to the building where the bedrooms are so you have to walk through people smoking and you can smell it all the way up the stairs.
Just What We Wanted
We were looking for a comfortable hotel with a good restaurant, close to a few National Trust sites and this fitted the bill perfectly. Friendly staff, a comfortable room and an excellent meal.
