Excellent stay

Mark H, Shropshire, stayed: November 2018

We had the most fabulous time at Tewkesbury Park hotel. Lovely building great clean large bedroom with the most comfortable bed ever! Excellent bathroom too.. lovely breakfast and evening meal. We made full use of the lovely pool, jacuzzi, sauna & steam room, all fabulous. Very high standard of decor in the hotel with very welcoming area to sit and relax in..We also visited the lovely nearby Tewkesbury abbey. We loved our stay and will definitely go back, great deal from Off Peak Luxury!! Thanks

A nice way to spend a relaxing weekend away.

Anon, stayed: October 2018

Loved the location, views from the hotel to die for. Room just right warm cosy and delightfully decorated. Breakfast excellent on Sunday, stressful on Saturday too many people not enough tables. Very long wait for a table so lost most of the morning. Dinner OK bit didn't eat there on Saturday or Sunday evening.

Excellent Hotel

PB, North Yorkshire, stayed: October 2018

We really enjoyed our stay (spa package). the services of the hotel staff, spa and health facilities were excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. Our only concern was that both for dinner and breakfast, it took a long time waiting for seat allocation. I realise that staff are very busy, but I do think it important to be greeted on first attending the restaurant / breakfast room and not left waiting for many minutes.

The hotel however was lovely, would definitely come again!

Marvellous three night getaway at Tewkesbury Park

GC, Merseyside, stayed: October 2018

My wife and I enjoyed a marvellous three night stay at Tewkesbury Park. On arrival we were upgraded to a suite in the main building, lovely room, king size bed, both bath and shower, great views over the park. We ate in both the bar and restaurant and all the meals were excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful and met all our requests quickly. My wife used the pool and had spa treatments which she rates as very good. Would definitely stay again and only two minutes from the Abbey.

A few avoidable problems

SL, Surrey, stayed: October 2018

Could have been an excellent 3 day stay, however:
A corporate event meant some areas of the car park were cordoned off and the par 3 golf was out of action as it was being used as a car park.
Staff had not been properly trained:
Barman who didn't know basic drinks
Dinner bill which include 2 full English Breakfasts
Main course arriving before the starters had been served
Staff pleasant but not welcoming

Tewkesbury Park says...

Thank you for your review and, although we're pleased that you rated our property highly, we acknowledge the issues you also highlighted. The corporate event was the UK Launch of the new all-electric Jaguar i-Pace vehicle and throughout the planning of this event, we were very careful to ensure that sufficient car parking was available for our other guests staying. We created an additional car park on the approach to the hotel, which was used mainly by the corporate events team and hotel's staff. Training is, of course, an ongoing challenge which will never end as we continue to introduce young people to the exciting world of hospitality but I am very disappointed if our bar staff were not able to provide correct drinks for you. It's very noticeable from our guests' feedback that one of the overwhelming attributes of this hotel is the friendliness and hospitality of our staff, so I'm very concerned and disappointed that you did not feel this part of our culture. I hope that, notwithstanding these concerns, you'll look to visit us again in the future.

With many thanks,
Patrick Jones
General Manager

Wonderful weekend break

Rebecca M, stayed: October 2018

We came here for my partners birthday and had such a lovely weekend stay in this hotel: the hotel itself has been beautifully refurbished, we particularly loved the bar and lounge areas, also enjoyed spending an afternoon in the pool and Jacuzzi! Had a great meal in the restaurant too- the food from the autumn menu was fantastic! What really made it such a relaxing experience was having such friendly and helpful staff. The waiters at dinner were very friendly and informative, the chef at breakfast went to specially bake us a loaf of bread when it had run out (!) And the reception staff helped us booking a taxi back to the station, ringing multiple places to find one at the time we needed. Would love to come again!
