Save money, go to Premier Inn

Nick H, Devon, stayed: July 2021

Paid 199 for room, meal and breakfast. Room was mediocre at best, hotel had no facilities other than restaurant and bar. Needed a fan as the room was too warm, they had none! Ordered 9 Luxury king prawns with avocado for a starter, got shrimps as a Beefeater prawn cocktail, when raised with the head waiter he literally lied and said on the packet they where cold water king prawns, OMG we laughed! they were shrimps no bigger than a finger nail. Why lie, why not admit you don't have the king prawns and had to make a substitute. We ordered room service breakfast on a form to choose our ingredients, that was ignored and we got what we were given, a basic breakfast, arrived cold, no butter or salt and pepper. So for the money, no I would NEVER stay here again.

Good,but .

BD, Lincolnshire, stayed: July 2021

Nice area to visit .
Hotel-Two nights out of three were disturbed by people (staff) talking outside.
Breakfast trays were missing different items each morning I.e. cutlery, cups, milk butter, scrambled eggs.
Staff were scarce so struggled to find someone to ask for drinks in the afternoon.
Afternoon tea was all gluten free despite only one person needing gluten free. Disappointing selection, mostly supermarket bought cakes.

35th Wedding Anniversary

Bill T, stayed: August 2021

I booked this stay as a surprise for our 35th Wedding Anniversary.
Took a chance as I ve not been here before and reviews varied.
I couldn t have been happier with the choice.. it was everything I d hoped for and more.

I highly recommend the restaurant.
Breakfast was really good too.

We will be back.

We were vert disappointed with the standard of this hotel.
It was not designed for a 4 night stay as there was no wardrobe in the bedroom only a short stick on which you had to put coat hangers.
The phone never worked in the bedroom and the lift was broken for the last 2 days.
Finally the dinner menu was the same every night so we went out to avoid the rather poor choice.
we most certainly will not visit this hotel again.

Couples Romantic Getaway Break

Jade, Bedfordshire, stayed: August 2021

I booked the romantic getaway break at Sudbury House Hotel for my partner as a delayed anniversary and job promotion celebration weekend. The package i booked was reasonably priced including dinner vouchers, prosecco and chocolates on arrival, 1pm late check out and a single overnight stay in a double room for 2. The hotel itself is beautiful and set in an idyllic location. The staff were very communicative and helpful with any queries i had. The double room we had been given was modern and clean, and included a bath which was a nice surprise. There ended up being a wedding function occuring during our stay so we dined in the residents lounge rather, we had a delicious 3 course meal, the seabass in particular was very tasty. We chose to have breakfast served to our room and booked for 9:45am to have a lay in, the waiter serving us during our stay was very polite, helpful and ontime with service. I also booked a sunday lunch in the magnolia restaurant as an extra after our 1pm checkout and once again the service was second to non, nothing was too much for the service staff. Unfortunately we didnt manage to get the name of the young male waiter attending to us both days, however i would like to say thank you for being so helpful and attentive towards us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back again soon

Sudbury hotel

Anon, stayed: August 2021

Comfortable clean hotel, very friendly helpful staff even though obviously short due to Covid-19.
Afternoon tea was really lovely.
Lots of easy parking. Very pretty location and gardens, handy for lots of site seeing.
Close to the pretty market place of Farringdon in very easy walking distance.
Would definitely recommend a stay here as very good value.

Disappointing

Rachel, Essex, stayed: August 2021

After waiting 20mins for someone to appear at reception we eventually got to the room. It was ok a bit above a premier inn we would say. Not quite what we were expecting.
We ate at the restaurant the food was disappointing my chicken was dry and was in a gravy not sauce and husbands steak was well done- medium , when he asked for rare.
The bar guy was rude- he didn t want to be there !
So told the girl when we checked out about our problems she said ok no problem and she would get the manager to contact us - we re still waiting!!
Would not ever recommend this place we spoke to other guests staying there and they had all had issues!!
