100% satisfied

Anthony, Dyfed, stayed: January 2020

We took a 2 night stay as a short break.
From the first moment we entered reception you could not fault the friendless and helpfulness of all staff.
We had a basic room which was large enough for our needs. The room was well maintained and of good quality.
The restaurant was excellent and food was of high quality. Once again staff were very friendly and attentive.
The location was good, being an old Abbey we were impressed that its history had been retained.
Plenty to see as you walk round.
If you are lucky enough to bump into Duggie he will impart some of the wealth of knowledge about the Abbey.

Our Special Weekend

Lorraine Prestatyn, stayed: November 2019

The hotel was exceptional staff so friendly and helpful, room spacious and very clean could not fault,
absolutely beautiful. The hotel bar could do with more staff especially when there is a wedding and there were two on the weekend we were there, a long wait to be served but staff very apologetic.
The restaurant was ok breakfast slow to arrive on both days and food only warm. Evening meal nice expensive, we did have chateaubriand but again food warm not hot.
We did have a most enjoyable time at the Abbey and would definitely go again.

Lovely venue

Anon, stayed: October 2019

This is a beautiful venue, skillfully converted from its previous use as a monastery. The only disappointed was the service in the restaurant. The elegant recently refurbished restaurant and good food is spoilt by poor service. There is plenty of staff, but they are very slow in taking orders, and on each of the three evenings we were there it took about an hour for our mains to arrive once we had ordered. One evening we ordered some 'while you wait' snacks and it took 20 minutes to serve these, which rather defeats the object. Whatever system is operated does not seem to work, the waiters walked around with confused looks and spent a disproportionate amount of time huddled in threes and fours around the computer screen. That said the staff were polite and helpful. The wine list is a bit pretentious, with very few wines under 35 a bottle and no house wine offered. We did express our dissatisfaction and without question the service charge was removed from our bill.

The Offpeak Luxury website is also out of date with regard to the restaurant, the was no evidence of Sister Charlotte's restaurant, the main restaurant being the Refectory.
