Staff at reception did not seem to understand the Offpeak Luxury booking with 80 allowance per room per day and tried to charge us the full price for our meal in the Brasserie in the evening. On our querying this she listed a 60 allowance, and on further querying, added an additional 20 generic allowance.
We were also disappointed to be offered a rather meagre continental breakfast whereas when we stayed there last February we received a full English breakfast.g
Excellent customer service from Joanna.
Cotswolds relaxation
The hotel is central in Cirencester, but still quiet at night . A comfortable room and bed. Only a very small lounge which was quite noisy in the evening being close to the bar . The dinner was good, but a long wait between each course, although we ate early and only a few people in the restaurant. Not a great day choice of starters or nibbles .I had the truffle honey fried chicken which was very odd and very sticky and it didn't specify it was chicken wings ..The main courses seemed very expensive for what they were and sides, too, were expensive. Then a service charge of 12.5 per cent added on which we thought was very high and only saw it was discretionary a(in very small print) , after we had paid ! The breakfast was very good with very good quality ingredients sourced locally we were told .
Lovely hotel
Had a lovely stay. Very dog friendly.
Perfect getaway
From the welcome , through to the farewell, our stay could not have been better
Booked easily through the website

Wouldn t hesitate to return
Nice hotel terrible food
The room was beautiful very clean and comfortable. The spa was small but lovely I had an excellent facial and enjoyed the hot tubs.
Where the hotel let itself down was the food. For dinner we went to the MBB restaurant which was quite smoky due to the open kitchen. The starters we had were quite nice but the mains were terrible, I had a massively over salted piece of fish that was almost inedible and my partner had a low quality grisley steak and poorly cooked chips. The restaurant was hugely over priced particularly given the quality of the food. Breakfast wasn t much better as the ingredients were low quality and the hasbrowns were very oily and over cooked, services was also very slow and it took almost an hour to get our breakfast.
Overall I would only stay here again if food is not included and we could eat else where.
Great Hotel for an Escape
My wife and I needed some quality "down time". We booked a weekend at the Kings Head Hotel and it was a fabulous success. The room was quite ideal; the service outstanding and food for dinner and breakfast was 1st class. We could not recommend it more. Definitely a hotel to re-visit.
