A night away with my elderly mother
This is a lovely hotel set in glorious countryside. The staff were so professional and the
food exceptional.
Disappointed
Beautiful property which has had the soul ripped from it; interior design at its worst, unsympathetic to the property. Staff had obviously been taught the same script and lacked spontaneity. Overall, the atmosphere was of a corporate business run by accountants. Food was unimaginative with little choice, not very well presented and the restaurant's tub seats were most uncomfortable. Communal areas were rather like John Lewis' furniture department. Net curtains in our bedroom were falling apart. There was no flexibility to change the drinks offer of "fizz" (Prosecco) for a glass of still house wine - "you bought the package, that's what you get". The place needs a client-focused management team experienced in country house hotels.
Ideal Relaxing break
Beautiful location, excellent food and restaurant staff.
My husband is on crutches so our courtyard room was a little too far for him but the staff were most helpful.
Lovely views whilst sipping a drink in the garden, will definitely return.
Very pleasant stay
Stayed two nights with friends. All staff very friendly. Comfortable room and good meals in the restaurant. The good weather enabled us to enjoy champagne outside overlooking the view on our arrival. We were impressed with the pool and made good use of it on both mornings of our stay.
Overall impression
Recent tasteful refurb and decoration. . Staff very willing but amateurish. Needs a Manager who knows the Hotel Business.
Well appointed Hotel with beautiful pool, very good food and splendid view
